French here, it's quite the opposite actually. I think it's basic politeness to try a few words of the language of the country you're in, and French do enjoy it :) (not the parisiens, but nobody likes the parisians anyway)

Ha ha you're right! It's something we've discussed for a couple of years at least, but we've actually never made the first step. After an argument yesterday, I thought I would make that first step, and I hope my partner still agrees it's a good idea. Thank you for these resources that's extremely helpful!
