Destroying your own country to own the Russians. I'm sure it'll be even better for the population when they have to also deal with unexploded cluster bombs even after the conflict ends.

They actually did. Throughout the war, the ROK sent about 300,000 troops to Vietnam to help the anti-communists.

What's your favorite genre of music?
Favorite genres are definitely Rap and RnB but I'll listen to some house music every once a while. Been getting into Reggaeton and Afrobeat the last couple of years and been liking those a lot.

Does anybody else have experiences with psychedelics?

On the topic of it losing the magical experience, I personally feel like it's all about how often you do it and at what point in your life. It's not a very scientific way of looking at it but I feel like the shrooms have to "call to you" in a way. I guess what I mean by that is you should have the want to do it not just because but because you feel like it'll help you in your life. I haven't had the want to trip in about 3 years but that has recently changed.

What do y'all think about ReVanced?
I've used it since it has come out. It's pretty good with a decent amount of customization which I like. First installing it can be a pain in the ass as well as updating it but I find it worth it to avoid ads and stuff

Historical materialism through the Star Trek lens
Reply in thread
Stateless, it isn't - Federation is actually a state, obviously for the reason that in universe where Klingon Empire, Cardassian Union, Romulan Star Empire, Ferengi Alliance or Borg Collective exist, state is necessary.
I feel like the Federation could be considered stateless considering there are no class distinctions and therefore there's no use of a state, who's job is to oppress the non-ruling class for the ruling class.

For sure, but as we know, government =/= state. There is a still a need for administration/government in a communist society.

Discussion Thread: What are all you reading in terms of fiction AND non-fiction? - #22
Currently reading The Last Wish, which is a bunch of short stories following Geralt from the Witcher. Really enjoying it so far and if anyone here is a fan of the games or watched the show you'll like it. The short stories will also be recognizable if you watched the show as well.

Serious question: how is it possible that CIA is presented in good light in movies?
Others have pointed out Hollywood's relationship with the CIA and this is a good article on that topic (it's about the Pentagon but it's the same idea)

Too old to serve?
I don't really care how old someone is as long as they have control of their mental faculties and they continue to serve the people. But obviously in a capitalist country as the USA that isn't the case. Same thing with term limits, if they continue to do their job well I don't care. Obviously I'm speaking about socialist countries though so if a person like Xi (who's 70) continues doing a good job I'm all for them continuing being in their position.

Definitely agree with all your points, set and setting are incredibly important when it comes to psychedelics. Also yeah I've read about lemon tek before but have not tried it myself, mostly cuz like I said I haven't felt the want to trip but also because I saw that lemon tekking increases the strength of the trip and I don't particularly want a strong trip lol.

It's pretty fun and well made. Has a huge community of modders so there's a lot of mods you can install that make the game better.

I just recently got back from vacation so I missed the release of Street Fighter 6 but have been playing that now and it's really fun. Might be the best Street Fighter game on release (SFV was terrible on release) with tons of content, the characters are well made and I like that they added a different control scheme (called modern) that makes it a bit easier for people new to fighting games to play it.
Other than that, I got back into playing Dead by Daylight with friends, we usually take a couple months break and come back to it when there's new content.

Yeah I think that one came out in 2000. I haven't played 1 and 2 but Divinity Original Sin 2 is a great game and the early access of BG3 is already considered better than a lot of fully released games.

Yeah hopefully that doesn't happen. Obviously the dev can lie but one of them said the game takes about 75 hours to finish it. And about 200 hours if you want to do everything.

I'm all over the place with games currently. Still playing Street Fighter 6 and enjoying that a lot, nice to see improvement in your gameplay as time goes on. Also have been playing Hunt Showdown after taking a break from it for a couple of months. Recently started playing Project Zomboid with some friends and it's been a fun pickup, probably the most realistic zombie game that exists.
