Does anyone know any Hard Sci Fi books about humans surviving without any hospitable worlds?

The Children of Time books by Adrian Tchaikovsky have a lot of those themes. Half of the first book is about an ark ship sent out to find a habitable planet because earth is dying. It spans hundreds of years as key crew members go in and out of hyper sleep. Relationships and political factions form and dissolve as the ageing ship continues its mission to find a new home.

The second book focuses on a terraforming crew that was sent to another star system to prepare a planet for humans. However, the planet's ecology is so alien it proves very difficult to gain a foothold.

Do the voices, DM!

The rogue I DM always asks where the brothel is. I just make up names and charge him gold for the stay.

While on the road the party stopped at a tavern in a small town. It was run by two sisters that were very friendly with the rogue and the paladin. The sisters led them downstairs and into their respective rooms. When their backs were turned the doppelgangers attacked!

The paladin's steed sensed he was in trouble and burst in the tavern and hoofed it to the cellar. The monk and wizard realized what was happening and begrudgingly put down their drinks to go help.

Scientists Use Ultrasound to Make Cold Brew Coffee in 3 Minutes Instead of 24 Hours

Reply in thread

From the paper.

Ultrasounds accelerate extraction processes due to acoustic cavitation [8], [9]. When acoustic bubbles, also called inertial bubbles, collapse near solid materials, such as coffee grounds, they generate micro-jets with the force to fracture the cell walls of plant tissues, intensifying the extraction of the intracellular content [10].

Seems more involved than just aggressive stirring.

She bought $20k worth of scooters 3 years ago for her small business. Now, the City of Tempe is pumping the brakes.

Boyce-Jones was willing to pay the $8,814 application fee and $1.18 per scooter per day charge that came with the SATV permit, but there was a problem. The permit requires electric scooters to have GPS monitoring and data sharing capabilities as well as self-locking mechanisms.

That seems absurd. What other data needs to be shared? It's like the rules were written by a scooter startup.

As Helldivers 2 struggles after the new update, Arrowhead's CEO promises fixes while also expressing disappointment in how it's performed.

I've been happy with the update, but I also rarely use the flamethrower or incendiary breaker. I normally play on 7s and my friends that use the incendiary said they are mostly fine in groups, but soloing objectives is harder.

The flamethrower change made chargers harder... But I prefer rocket pods for them anyway.
