[Discussion] Which Soulslike will you be playing this weekend and which Soulslike helped you "git gud"?
I have been playing Star Renegades, which is pretty good for a turn based game. I've got some pain in my left hand, where I can basically play souls games or guitar, and I'll pick guitar. I def gotta go find a physical therapist/hand specialist. But in the mean time I'm just taking it easy, and its def better than it was.
Getting gud was a process, seems different for each game. It took me a lot of back and forth between bloodborne and ds3 before I finally got the hang of ds3 and completed a few playthroughs. Then I spend a lot of time playing Bloodborne def mastered it at one point and completed full playthroughs with every weapon, save a few.
Elden Ring took me a long time and several spaced-out playthroughs until I got good. The trick for me was learning to parry and completing several full runs, developing clear reproducible strategies for Melania, Radagon/EB, Consort Radahn, and other bosses; that maintained the challenge and skill that I could feel good about, but also allowed me to defeat without too much suffering. Honestly I didn't really get there with PCR, he still takes immense effort but its satisfying to beat him with parries.
Sekiro took a long time to git good, I was hopelessly stuck on it for years. I was too much of a bloodborne player and Sekiro's dodge is utterly unforgiving. It wasn't until Nightreign came out and I mastered Executor that I decided to try Sekiro again, this time beating it several times in a row, finishing a charmless run, and beating all the boss run journeys except the final one.
