This thread is why I don't like international politics. The word zionist, zio, etc., are complicated. Some use it like saying the n-word and is anti-Semitic. Others use it as literally the person is showing Zionist beliefs behaviour. I can't tell which and I don't even know if SBC is a pro Zionist behavior kind of guy. The end result is I'm taking those comments down.

I respectfully disagree with the decision to remove all those comments. I genuinely would have been interested in them.

I can't even get to that from my apk I use for Lemmy.

I swear, this place is just turning into reddit. Bunch of overzealous mods building themselves little bubbles of their preferred propaganda.

This isn't the place for this. I don't know enough about it to even discuss it with you.

I will use this as an opportunity to once again state that Jared Leto’s Joker does not deserve the hate he gets (Jared Leto himself notwithstanding). He’s a gangster with a touch of camp (his purple Lamborghini has custom Gotham plates reading “HAHAHA,” c’mon!) and gives off the sort of vibes that makes you WANT to see Batman punch him. Joker should not be “cool” or “compelling.” He’s a crazy dude in clown make-up. IRL you meet a guy with a Joker poster on the wall, you know that you should probably leave. Same should be the case in Batman’s universe.

I would argue that compelling can work if it's done right. Like the Joaquin Phoenix actor was the right balance of "compelling" but in a bad way where he's obviously compelling for the wrong reasons. He's like a fucked up call of the void joker, an antihero for incels.

All the incel drama that came out of that first movie was a sign that Joker was done really well IMO. He made the character believable, someone who could convince a fucked up troupe of incels to put clown paint on and terrorize people as a way of taking out their own anger back at the world for not fitting in.

Like it always seemed so fucking weird that he had a posse of clowns. That was the first Joker to make it real.

A genuinely hilarious but still also undeniably evil Joker would be a good direction to try.
