Now that Sync and Infinity are out, which do people prefer? Also, how do they compare to the existing lemmy apps?
Sync is the only reason i am on lemmy.

What's something that was dismissed as a gimmick but you liked?
The active edge squeeze feature on the pixel 3. I loved being able to gently squeeze the sides of the phone to trigger google assistant.

Star Citizen costs exceed Cyberpunk 2077, GTA 5, and RDR2 combined
For the sake of starting some discussion around here, I'm a week 1 kickstarter backer who is still in love with this project AMA.

What niche phone features would appeal to you?
I want a phone with an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, those are apparently a niche feature nowadays. The optical readers are terrible by comparison.

There are plenty of things to do, such as bounty hunting missions (player or ai), cargo hauling, medic, mining, transport, exploration. You can make money doing most of these, either through missions, or by buying/selling commodities, among other things. There are certain ships that are better for some things than others. It's a completely open world(universe). You can hop in your ship and fly down to a planet, get out anywhere you want, walk around, steal another ship, etc.
Pvp is definitely available, and you'll need to be clever to avoid it if it's not your thing. Major POIs like cities will have an armistice zone where you are not allowed to PVP, and space stations will have defense systems built in for anyone getting rowdy. But there are plenty of other areas that are great for PVP without such barriers as well.
The greatest thing about Star Citizen is the community. If you hop into an instance and start asking questions, people will help you, show you around, pick you up in their ship if you are stranded, maybe invite you to their player org. As far as the game itself, It really is an experience like no other. Yes there are plenty of bugs, but it has come a long way over the years

There are still bugs for sure but it's miles better than it was 3 years ago.

The steam main Window is now also the launch window, thus you cannot browse steam while launching a game.

Is there a way for it to start minimized when you log into Windows yet? My biggest gripe.

I think people are so hungry or desperate for what Star Citizen is promising they are literally willing it into existence via crowd funding. It's the type of game I've dreamt about since I was very young. I remember playing space games back in the 90s and asking myself "wouldn't it be cool if you could fly your ship to a space station and get out and walk around?". Well here is my chance to help make that dream a reality. There's just no way something like this gets made going through the traditional game development process, where publishers would rather ship a sequel every year instead of taking risks.

As a Vikings fan I would love this. He seems to jump off the charts as a pure runner.
