In the beginning, there was ownCloud. They were a good FLOSS offering that decided to start catering solely to corporate customers in the hopes of juicy support contracts. The community who had been contributing the majority of the code gave them a mighty "Fork you" and created NextCloud.

That was about ten years ago. I haven't looked into ownCloud for the last seven or so, but it had stagnated pretty badly by that point. Maybe they've gotten some fresh blood since then, but you'll likely find it to be quite lacking in features and plugins comparatively.

I have been drooling on these for years. It would take winning the lottery for me to justify spending $2000 USD on one, though.

Nothing will ever hook me as badly as Kerbal Space Program did. If I wasn't at work, I was playing Kerbal for five years straight. No breaks, didn't play anything else during that time. Once I got RealSolarSystem and RealismOverhaul working, you couldn't pry me away from the computer. I put in aver 10,000 hours, easily.

That is such a clever way to play with asymmetry on several different levels

It's like the difference between using a beautiful damascus paring knife to cut an apple, and using a Swiss Army knife to do the same thing. The Swiss Army knife will do the job, but the paring knife will feel better cutting it up. There realistically isn't anything that the electronic organizers can do that a smartphone can't, but the organizer was designed from the ground up to do exactly what it does, and nothing else. There is a joy to using something that was crafted for a specific purpose. Just like I have a bunch of calculators on my phone, I still never leave the apartment without a real calculator. And I've never reached for my phone when I've needed a calculator except for in an emergency when I was too far away from my desk.

SageMath is my go to for heavy math.

Most chemicals that are gasses this close to the sun are solids that far out. Carbon dioxide freezes at just -79 C at one atmosphere of pressure. The energy coming in from the sun would not be enough to keep good greenhouse gasses from precipitating out of the atmosphere.

That is a beautiful machine! It is in so much better condition than I am, despite both me and the calculator having the same manufacturing year.

I have an entire SageMath Jupyter Notebook devoted to Squiganometry. That is some fun stuff to play with!

I've been using Platinum Carbon Black for a while, and absolutely love it. Bonus points for it being waterproof.

I hope that I remember to take out the batteries before then. That would suck to get the whole place set up and then have a whole corner coated in battery acid due to my own negligence.

My second fountain pen was a Kuratake 13, and I love it! I've been using it daily for more than a year and had no problems with it at all. I've used it with Diamine Ancient Copper, Robert Oster Deep Purple, and Organics Studio Santiago's Sea. The only thing to be careful of is that it will get your fingers inky for the first week or so after a refill. The breather holes are above the brush and they seep for the first seven to ten days.

It is spectacular. My wife thinks that it is kinda ugly, but she also thinks that I'm good looking. Her taste has been suspect for a while!

Thank you, @[email protected]! I was way more worried that I was doing something wrong than anything else. Both the Lamy 2k and Sailor inks are highly regarded, so I'm the weakest link here. I had no idea that the Manyo inks would change like that, but now that I know I'll see it as something to appreciate instead of panic over. Thanks, again!
