Administrative court: Cookie banner must contain "Reject all" button

Reply in thread

And it should include this mysterious 'legitimate interest', or whatever it is called - always on by default in 'my choices', even though no one seems to be able to explain what this means. How can I make an informed consent on something that vague?

On the other hand, not 'Reject All', but 'Reject All except functionally necessary' (which should be precisely regulated by the law), otherwise there will be no cookie to remember our 'reject all' choice, which I am sure the corpos would happily use do discourage us from clicking that.

Millions of children and teens lose access to accounts as Australia’s world-first social media ban begins

Reply in thread

That is why I think FB and others might been quietly lobbying for this solution. This way they can stll be predatory, as long as the kids pretend to be adult. Or just abuse adult users. The alternative, of not being evil, is not compatible with their business model. But it is the business model that should be banned, not socializing online by teenagers.

Ukrainian Specialists Shoot Down Multiple Shahed Drones in the Middle East

Reply in thread

  1. Iran have been involved in the war in Ukraine for years. Ukraine has better reasons to fight it than USA or Israel.
  2. Ukraine's involvement is on the defence, they don't bomb Iranian cities. And the drones they shoot are not only targeting USA and Israel directly.
  3. Ukraine is still fighting for survival and they have to make some tough choices to fund that fight. Unlike West Europe they can't just say 'fuck off, we won't help you' to their important or potential arms suppliers.

Yes, it is not a great place for them to be in, but in their current situation I find this is quite justified.
