How is that depressing? If anything, it shows that they don't need to make a 300-400 million dollar capeshit movie that flops losing them money.

Wendy's is introducing Uber style surge pricing.
Where I am, the price of fast food is just about equal to some restaurants. There's no point in doing fast food anymore.

Windows 12 May Require a Subscription
I know there's always someone evangelizing Linux when you mention Windows anything, but when Microsoft requires a subscription for Windows is the day I will actually move to Linux.

Yep, the CEO of our multi-billion dollar company recently sent an email congratulating everyone on a job well done and record profits this quarter, yet our department laid off everyone they newly hired and cut all our hours. My boss said he's worked here for 30 years and he's never seen cost cutting like this. It's disgusting.

RAM prices are about to rise nearly 50 percent. And it gets worse.
Thought I could wait to build a new PC, but at this point, it'll be another 5-10 years before things start getting better. After the price of the steam machine, I ordered parts to build my own. Such a bad time to build, but it's just gonna get worse the longer I wait.

Dear God. I gag whenever I see the monstrosity that is the YouTube homepage without my logged in recommendations. I'd hate to see what's served completely randomly. I thought daytime television was a vapid wasteland, but it's nothing compared to unadulterated YouTube.
Maybe vapid is the wrong word, but y'all know what I'm getting at.

It's the joke. Instead of curing cancer or the like, it's being used for stuff like big breasteses. The scene is real, the jugs are not FYI.

Seeking to understand speaker phone use in public
My mother does this. She says it's because she can't hear it when she puts it up to her ear. I think she's just not positioning the phone correctly to her ear. I've bought her headphones and headsets, but she's a retired old lady that's technologically challenged so she's pretty much never going to stop it.

Dead Cells designer says decision to stop updates is ‘asshole move’ by former studio
Reply in thread
My read is it's more about taking work away from Evil Empire rather than it being about the game itself. Motion Twins created Evil Empire to handle future updates for Dead Cells, but then announced that the next update is the final update doesn't bode well for job security.

Microsoft Needs Windows Lite, No telemetry, no spying, no ads, no AI, no .NET, to retain gamers and developers
I'm building a gaming PC that's gonna run Linux. To prep, I install my distro of choice (CachyOS) on an old laptop to check it out. It was fantastic. I'm confident saying, unless there's a very specific outlier reason, you don't need Windows anymore.

James Gunn Says It’s ‘Nonsense’ to Think ‘Superman’ Will Flop If It Doesn’t Make $700 Million: ‘It Doesn’t Need to Be as Big as People Are Saying’
I gotta agree with James Gunn here. It's not that I was sick of the superhero movies, but sick of how bad they've all gotten. After Endgame, it was just pile after pile. And the whole DCEU was a pile from the start. I got my tickets to Superman though because I love Superman and Gunn's movies were the better of the superhero stuff. But it's also disheartening that the general audience and media seem to have deem it a failure already.
