Heartwarming

Keep going. If this shitty screenshot continues to be shared on the internet, I'm pretty sure in just a few more years the quality will have deteriorated to the point where it's unreadable.

What discontinued feature do you miss from phones or other technologies?

IR Blasters!

I feel like I'm the only one who used them or cares that they were quietly phased out of phones.

You used to be able to use your phone as a universal remote. Being able to control my TV, sound system, ceiling fan, and lights all from my phone was so convenient! Plus if you were stuck in like a waiting room and they had ads or garbage like Fox News on, you could change the channel or turn it off completely. It was an incredibly useful feature to me, but I guess barely anyone else used since it was removed from phones without any complaints.

Except me. I'm complaining!

Growing

I'm not sure I've ever actually seen a real Ben Shapiro tweet. All I ever see are obvious fake ones like this. Like, there is a ton to make fun of Ben Shapiro for, but shit like this is just so low-effort it's childish.

This is the same flavor of shit as the Babylon Bee. It's "satire" but done in a way that there's no real joke. It's just "Hey look at what a piece of shit this person is! Here's a made up scenario where they act like a piece of shit!" And then idiots who believe everything they see online fail to notice that it's made up and take it as fact.

My favorite thing is when a conservative finds themselves outside of one their safe-space, echo chambers and are shocked to discover that not only do regular people not agree with them, but they find their views so abhorrent that they actively view all conservatives as complete pieces of shit. And they are not wrong to do so.

The real truth!

I always felt like Buddhism was more a philosophy than a religion. It can be used as a religion, but it really boils down to "Life sucks, but you can be happy if you stop thinking about how much life sucks".

CNN Poll: Half of Americans think the economy is getting worse, despite months of stronger economic news | CNN Politics

Been to a grocery store lately? Looked at rent prices? How about clothing? Gas? Basic necessities?

People think the economy's getting worse because it IS for consumers. I don't really give a shit if a company is paying less for grain than they did a year ago if the prices they charge for the final product havn't gone down!

Until basic costs of living start decreasing, most people aren't going to see any positive change.

Anti-space/science rhetoric on the left.

A lot of it comes from people who are anti-Elon and are against everything he touches. So they become anti SpaceX. Then they become anti-aerospace.

They don't understand, or even want to understand, the science and importance behind it's advances. The thought process just goes Musk Bad>SpaceX Bad>Aerospace Bad.

Remember how in Interstellar, there's that teacher who was casually teaching that the moon landings were fake? Like, society had reached a point where they cared so little for space, that they actively turned a blind eye towards its accomplishments or just straight up dismissed them? I feel like that's the path we're on. Because of people's blind hatred towards a rich douche, an entire EXTREMELY IMPORTANT industry is becoming reviled through sheer ignorance.

The Real Threat to Free Speech Is Coming From the Right

I've found a pretty effective argument when dealing with right wingers at this point. I simply say that only one side is banning books and it's theirs, and I stick only to that. It's indefensible. They can try to twist it, say it's just protecting kids, and I will continue to say "Only the republicans are banning books". It's the end of discussion. Its shoving in their face that there is a clear line in the sand that republicans have crossed, and there is nothing they can say that would change that.

I wish more websites allowed random words as passwords instead of forcing numbers and special characters (but not THAT special character, you have to use one of the ones on this list).

People change their passwords by one letter or digit because they're tied to these restrictive formats. If 5-6 random words was the norm, people would update more than just one character when needing to change passwords.

"poison navy series ruler handshake papaya" is a fantastic password.

"Ilovemygrandkids!123" is a horrible password.

Foxconn Selling Two Empty Wisconsin Buildings After Failed Promises to Bring Jobs to the State

I've been following this since it started. The Mt. Pleasant city council pulled a lot of shady shit to get this to happen. People tried protesting, but they were silenced. This is the conclusion to a 6 year con that anyone with half a brain could have seen coming. An LCD factory? No one uses LCD anymore, it's all LED. And you can't just swap out a few pieces of equipment to make the switch.

Wisconsin judge sides with 11-year-old trans girl over her right to use school toilets

Why do either matter in the bathroom? How does the sex of someone else change how you pee or poop?

There are already laws in place to prevent people from harassing others in the bathroom, regardless of sex. I just don't understand. There are SO many contradictions in the belief that banning trans people from the bathroom of their choosing is even worth discussion.

Are you worried about girls and women being uncomfortable in the bathroom around someone who looks like a guy? Ok, so if a ban is in place, they now have to share the bathroom with trans men who look a hell of a lot more like a guy than a trans woman.

Is it about preventing people who may be attracted to others from sharing space in the bathroom? First, gross, it's a bathroom; only pervs go looking for any kind of sexual gratification there (and again, there's already laws that cover this). Second, gay people exist, so it's kind of a moot point to ban trans people.

It just seems like any concern used to justify a trans bathroom ban would still exist even if a ban was in place. I mean, unless of course the only concern is "trans people have too many rights in our society" in which case, kindly, fuck right off.
