I don't get it
I can identify make and model but NEVER the year.
But my mostly-deaf husband can identify motorcycles BY SOUND (or lack thereof).

You probably can't. This is a boundary for him and a better approach to this might be to get a better understanding of where he's coming from (if needed) and respect that boundary.

While on a road trip if it's raining hard or the weather is otherwise bad, I have to turn my music down or off so I can see better.
I cackled the first time I read about something like that but now I'm that person 🫠
Also had an 8:30 bedtime for at least 10 years. I'll be 40 next year.

Not so much anymore because I haven't figured it out on my Steam Deck but ABSOLUTELY with PC games. Strictly a solo player though.

Why do narcissists have such fragile egos?
They are deeply insecure, ashamed, alone, anxious, and afraid. They CANNOT be faced with others confirming their worst fear: that something is deeply and terribly wrong with them. They're basically emotionally disabled and can't empathize, work together as a team, or be genuine. They completely lack accountability ir responsibility. In close relationships, they suck the life out of people the most because it makes them feel better about themselves and they choose this tactic in these relationships because that person is least likely to leave them.
As a therapist, I've seen one, maybe two clinical narcissists. The one I remember best only came to therapy to get recognition for doing so but had NO insight into the nature of his issues.

Wednesday wins... what's going right recently?
Communication in my marriage. I'm a therapist and sometimes helping others gives me insight into my own struggles, which makes it easier to talking about things with him.

Why do some people with college degrees and an education, still act so fucking stupid?
Education has no bearing on intellect. Or appropriate life experience.
Also, when people say someone is stupid, crazy, etc, it's because they don't understand that person's perspective.

If you have cut off mainstream music streaming, how do you discover new music or artists and songs like what you're listening frequently?
Graphical way of searching by a given artist and the results are shown based on who is most similar (closer to center) and who is least similar (farthest from center). Love searching this way.
I've also used YouTube to search for a familar artist and then I'll go through the suggestions to see if I find anything interesting.

You get one wish that makes your life more convenient. Not changes it, more convenient. What do you wish for?
No food allergies, specifically gluten. It's hard being a foodie when so much effort has to be put into figuring out where I can eat.
And dammit I just want regular bagels and brioche buns!!!

If you are formerly religious, how did you leave your religion and what made you do it?
Raised nondenominational Christian. Started having questions and exploring other belief systems in high school. Parents always made me attend church, initially with them and then said I just had to go "somewhere" once I got my own car.
The pastor at my aunt and uncle's church discussed some Christian guy who did his Master's thesis on the deck of cards (face cards) and something something something the queen represents the mother of harlots, don't yolk yourselves with sinners, etc. Made no sense, never went back. I was in my early 20s. Around this time, I was strongly considering various Eastern religions, specifically Islam and Buddhism, but couldn't get a foothold in either.
Fast forward to about 5 years ago (mid 30s) and I had a client who was extremely Atheist and made several good points against God that made a lot of sense. Started looking further into Buddhism and found the Secular Buddhism podcast. There's an episode where he basically says God is real if you believe in him but that doesn't affect reality. Decided right then that I was done. Been a Buddhist atheist ever since.

[Discussion] What are you playing on your Deck? - March 2026
Steamworld Build. Didn't think I'd like it as much as I do but I'm on my 4th play through (you unlock a special building each time) and am still enjoying it. Wonderful little gem of a game.

What game sequel ruined a beloved franchise or character for you?
Prince of Persia. First two were good, though a glitch toward the end of the second one kept me from finishing it.
The third one was an abomination. Completely different tone and vibe, completely different Prince. DNF.

How did you meet your significant person?
Met my husband at a church we used to go to (I've since denounced religion). He asked if I wanted to see A Quiet Place. Agreed. Ended up being a double date with another couple who didn't want to see A Quiet Place so we saw Rampage instead. Absolutely fucking horrible movie. But he and I never stopped texting after that and did a subsequent date a couple weeks later. 5th wedding anniversary is Sunday 🙂
