Musk’s DOGE minions refuse to reveal their names when grilling civil servants
The fact that they don't even name said goons in this article is pathetic. To reiterate, their names are Gavin Kliger, Ethan Shaotran, Akash Bobba, Luke Farritor, and Edward Coristine. Musk doesn't want their names out there - say them louder!

Inflation pain helped secure Trump win but his policies mean higher prices
I'm scared for the economic future. My job is with a company that needs supplies from China to make our products. Our buyers also source most of their raw materials overseas. Trump's tariffs will destroy us. We won't be able to source materials and neither will our buyers. I may lose my job.
Beyond that, I have family members only a couple of years from retirement. This is going to tank their accounts. I need a new car. How will I be able to afford one? Everything is going to go up in cost.

Google Calendar removes Pride Month and Black History Month
This was always going to happen. Companies in Germany when Hitler rose to power didn't protest and speak up against him - they needed to sell his army goods. They made his uniforms and cars and didn't say a peep about the extermination of people around them. The companies that spoke up were crushed. A corporation's bottom line is their bottom line, no matter what horrors they need to assist in perpetrating.

Planting mint
Also catnip, but with catnip there's a 50% chance neighborhood cats will show up and roll on it until it dies.

It goes both ways. I just leaned over and said "mrrow" to my cat, which she immediately responded to with her own "mrrrrow".

Idaho library bans minors from entering without parental consent
When I was a teenager, my parents signed a permission slip to change my card from a child's card to an unrestricted adult card because I was there so much and didn't much care if I read "inappropriate" books. The modern persecution of libraries and censoring of content is absolutely ridiculous. It's hard enough to get kids to look away from their phones. Now they're not even allowed to check out a book without their parents.

I know of one that has a specific theme weekend for sci-fi for this exact reason. It gets all the Star Trek, Star Wars, Dr Who, and other time traveling costumers to come then, gives them their fun of interacting with other sci-fi fandoms, and keeps the other weekends more or less free of them.

You have fallen through reality into the Trekrooms.

Been browsing reddit since the start of the election. With kamalas loss I'm noticing right wing voices start to emerge. Reddit is going to transition to a right wing platform right before our eyes.
I'm watching leftist subs already get filled up with Russian propaganda about the election being stolen. It's depressing. They're doing the same shit to us as they did to the right in 2020 and we're falling for it.

Autism is spiking in young adults, study finds
Reply in thread
A disorder is something that interferes with your enjoyment of life. While I'm proudly autistic and don't have any issues saying that, I also recognize how it makes my life more difficult.
My sensory issues, stims, and social problems do interfere with my life and did even more when I was a child. I've been discriminated against for being autistic by a boss who tried to say that not making eye contact meant I was bad at my job. I've had to seek accommodations at work, which I wouldn't be able to do if it wasn't a disability
I appreciate your optimism but your perception is wrong. It very much is a disability and those of us living with it know that.

My job offers "free" online consultations for mental health reasons. Every single "available" slot is during working hours.

Everything HR does is for the benefit of the company. They do not do anything to genuinely help employees. You are a replaceable cog and the moment they decide you're not useful, you will be tossed out. Never trust them or the structures they put in place.

Your experience isn't everyone's experience, and judging people who struggle more helps no one. I was medicated as a teenager, grew out of it, then suddenly got whacked over the head by it coming back in my late twenties. Medication has helped, and I've learned a lot of tricks to manage it, but the fact that I have to work twice as hard or more to do basic things that other people do without thinking means it clearly is a disability. I'm also autistic and I feel far more disabled by my ADHD than my autism.

The mod of a sub I watch confirmed earlier that Reddit is threatening moderators who don’t comply with removing the names of Elon’s goons from their subs, claiming that spreading those names is doxxing.
Those names, by the way, are Gavin Kliger, Ethan Shaotran, Akash Bobba, Luke Farritor, and Edward Coristine.
But nice scapegoat you got there.

Dear Americans, be prepare to get screwed!
I'm involved in the manufacturing sector. At recent trade shows, we've been hearing that a lot of companies were holding off on making decisions about purchasing goods and machinery until after the election, though no one was saying much specifically about what each candidate would mean for their decisions. This article seems to say the outlook isn't super rosy and his initiatives don't make a ton of sense.
