Denuvo blames its low reputation on pirates & gamers.

This is such BS. They claim there are challenges with testing whether or not Denuvo causes performance issues but aren't there 100s of games with Denuvo that have been cracked that clearly perform better than the legitimate versions? They talk about either the devs doing it or they themselves doing it but people don't want to publish the results. If the results are that there is no performance hit, then surely that's something everyone would want to show. It obviously does hit performance which is why they won't publish it.

They also say Denuvo helps developers save up to 20% of revenue that they would not have otherwise received due to piracy. How do they even know that? You can't compare two different games and you can't release the same game twice for people to buy twice. The fact that they also say "up to" suggests this is also bollocks!

Relatable

I hate these lists. Almost all of these are completely normal. Stop trying to diagnose yourselves. There are more people who do most of things on this list than people who do none. Does that mean most people have ADHD?

Edited: removed the swearing. There was no need for it. I still stand behind the sentiment.

You don't understand because you're not as smart as this guy. This guy has great taste and a deep understanding of what good music is. It's everyone else on the planet in the last 50 years who are wrong :/

Warframe Staff Reveals Intel's 14th & 13th Gen CPUs Responsible For Instability Issues, i9-13900K Takes Up A Major Portion

I've posted this before but posting here in the hope others might benefit from it.

I was having issues with crashes in multiple games but rdr2 was the worst. I had a rig built with an i9 14900k and Asus hero z790.

I finally found the solution and it was to do with the default bios settings for my Asus MB and my i9 14900k.

In the document linked here...

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/content-details/743844/13th-generation-intel-core-and-intel-core-14th-generation-processors-datasheet-volume-1-of-2.html

Page 98, Table 17, Row 3: Reveals the stock turbo power limits for the 13900K and 14900K CPUs are 253W, not the 4,000+ my MB's Bios settings default to. Page 184, Table 77, Row 6: Lists the maximum current limit at 307A, far below the MB's default of 500+A.

I found this information in a Reddit post (https://www.reddit.com/r/overclocking/comments/1axepvu/optimizing_stability_for_intel_13900k_and_14900k/) and followed the settings as follows:

ASUS Z790 Motherboards:

Save your current settings into a profile so you can return to them later if you want.

Reset your BIOS to default settings. Ai Tweaker tab:

Disable MultiCore Enhancement.

Enable XMP(if your RAM supports it).

Set SVID behavior to Typical Scenario.

Set short duration turbo power = 253

Set long duration turbo power = 253

Set max core/cache current = 307Amps

Doing this immediately stabilised the CPU temps as well as bring down the average temp by ~10 to 15c. It's been a few months now with zero crashes.

Hope this helps someone

Amount UK's richest pay in income tax revealed - BBC News

This really does seem like propaganda! Not much revealed here either. Says 60 people, earning at least 50m in 21/22, paid over 3bn in tax a year. It says at least 50m but if we take 50m x 60, that's 3bn. They are obviously not paying 100% tax and are therefore earning way way more than 50m a year on average between them. What would be "revealing" is saying exactly how much they earnt and how much tax they paid so we can see the %. I bet it's a significantly lower % than the UK average, which is why this story doesn't "reveal" it.

Rockstar is selling cracked game copies on steam.

I saw something the other day that looked at how rockstar anti piracy measures were breaking legitimate games bought on steam. Resonated with me as I bought manhunt to play on steam deck but it crashes at the end of the first level. So this would suggest that not only have rockstar implemented something that breaks games bought through legitimate avenues, but that those same games might be the result of code they "stole" for want of a better word.
