There does not seem to be a celebrities magazine here yet. You could make one and become a mod of it.

Bethesda Quietly Removes Denuvo DRM from Ghostwire: Tokyo
Sorry we cannot afford to pay the DRM licensing fee. As a result we will no longer be able to inconvenience our customers or prevent people who were never going to pay for our game anyway from playing.

Substack says it will not remove or demonetize Nazi content
“we don’t like or condone bigotry in any form.” I mean they are litterally Condoning bigotry.
"His response similarly doesn’t engage other questions from the Substackers Against Nazis authors, like why these policies allow it to moderate spam and newsletters from sex workers but not Nazis."
Doesn't seem very consistent.

I was thinking that as well. /r/blind users just want a place they can talk and post threads that is accessible they owe no loyalty to reddit.

I think having all the search engines being front ends for just bing and google has just revealed an obvious weakness.

Green day is on the right side of history once again.
"Green Day goes from raging against the machine to milquetoastedly raging for it," Musk wrote Sunday evening.

I thought this was the other leaning tower in Italy and was confused.
From memory the leaning tower of Pisa is estimated to last at least another 200 years.

UN headquarters in Gaza bombed, resulting in numerous casualties
I didn't see in the article which terrorist faction was responsible.
Was it the IDF or Hamas? Anyway screw them both.
Genocidal maniacs have no place in society.

What is the point of small instances?
1: Even big instances start out small.
2: Also having other instances besides the big ones helps prevent a monopoly over the fediverse.
3: Bigger isn't always better. Nothing wrong with a small Cozy community.

Report: Bungie Will Lose Independence Within Sony If Destiny 2 Fails Financial Goals
I prefer Destiny 1 at least it is a full game with all the story intact.
Deleting all the main story and half the DLC people paid for is not how you run a game.

/r/EvilGenius was a labour of love, and /u/Spez shat in it. Fuck reddit, and fuck Steve Huffman.
While I have never played that game I respect that mod for standing up. Looks like they are going to remove themself as moderator and let reddit sort the chaos out. https://reddit.adminforge.de/r/evilgenius/comments/14i93co/an_update_on_the_subreddit/

What's going on with Google's search engine?
Google has really gone down hill to the point I can no longer find obscure searches anymore. Even youtube searches sorting by new has gone downhill to the point that most of the results are youtube shorts with half of them having multiple hashtags in the title.

Remember when that dude in Germany used emergency powers to only take control of the country temporarily.
Once he gets the power of a Dictator he is not going to give it up remember never again applies to all countries.

Australia will never elect a Donald Trump – and it’s due to one national trait[: our culture of not getting too big for your boots]
That attitude is what got him Elected in the US.
Never underestimate a conman that plays on Xenophobia to get what they want.
Our ranked choice voting may be leagues ahead of first past the post but it is still a possibility we should look out for.

I disagree with Orban saying Ukraine will take light years to join the EU.
They could join any metre now.

If people don't want reposts online, they shouldn't also lock old threads. I should be able to google something and reply to a 10 year old discussion
As far as I know Lemmy and kbin do not automatically lock threads after a certain amount of time.
I think the whole online culture against necro posting is something that should not be encouraged.
Especially when it is the first thing that comes up in google and the only reply is to google it.
