Federal Tracker: Liberals Lead by 6 as Conservatives Narrow Gap

One pole doesn't mean that much you need to see three or four before getting excited or anything but there is definitely signs that Canadians are getting angry or concerned about the liberals inability to deliver even though Carney's personal ratings are still decent

Canada’s boycott of U.S. wines ‘causing devastating harm,’ California senator says

The two things that have been effective in putting pressure on trump in the trade war have been the ads taken out by ford and the boycott of American Goods. Neither of which were done by the federal government. But the federal government should take the queue and really lean into this and make life miserable for trump before the midterms to push for a deal

After the midterms trump isn't going to care, this is when we should be getting our elbows up.

More than 40% of Canadian manufacturers weighing move to U.S., KPMG poll finds

This is nothing short of devastating. This news in and of itself is absolutely horrible news, but when you think about it would it also means is that anybody thinking of starting a business is probably going to start it in the united states rather than Canada. You can't see those numbers but you have to assume that that's the case which means investment in Canada and good-paying jobs are probably going to be extremely underperforming

Michael Higgins: Carney's expropriation plan for Alto creates second-class citizens

The fact is whenever the government engages in this type of discriminatory Behavior where there are two different policies for two different groups of people you create more division and more bigotry and hatred. It is not the way forward. Everyone should be treated the same way when it comes to their property

Opinion: Carney should be the anti-Trump and jettison Brookfield from his portfolio

Absolutely true that just having Brooksfield in his portfolio and having to deal with it makes the Prime Minister look compromised. The problem is he also has a lot of share Futures in Brooksfield which means even if he dumped his current shares he'd still have an interest in their success and we'd be back to the same problem

Corporate watchdog was still accepting complaints as Carney abruptly closed it down

A corporate watchdog was still accepting complaints right up until the point Prime Minister Mark Carney announced its dissolution — seemingly out of nowhere — despite saying the decision to discontinue the office was made "months" earlier.

The Canadian Ombudsperson for Responsible Enterprise (CORE) was introduced under former prime minister Justin Trudeau in 2019 to investigate potential human rights abuses committed by Canadian companies operating abroad.

EDITORIAL: Canada tells investors ‘we’re not ready’

The fact is we have had six straight quarters of business investment leaving Canada faster than it's coming. That's quarters, not months. That predates Carney and it hasn't changed since Carney got here.

There is no chance we can ever get on our feet and cope with the US trade war if we don't reverse that trend quickly.

In Tense Ethics Hearing, Conservatives Say Brookfield Partnered With Vancouver Condo Developer 15 Days Before Carney's Bailout — and Call Brookfield as a Witness

The optics are kind of hard to ignore on this one. A developers in trouble, Brookfield jumps in and works out a deal with them 15 days before carney says that the government will spend tens of billion dollars to bail them out and buy their properties.

The mainstream media is being a little quiet on this, this is kind of a big deal. This is all the makings of an snc lavalin scandal and they're kind of deliberately not talking much about it

$31M in bonuses last year at Housing Corporation: Canadian Taxpayers Federation

>Your C-suite shouldn’t be taking millions in taxpayer-funded bonuses while Canadians can’t afford homes,' says group's federal director

I mean, kind of a fair point. I believe we're up to four different housing corporations federally and all of their people are making big bucks and bonuses while regular Canadians still can't afford to buy a home unless they inherit or are selling an existing home

LeBlanc says Canada seeking clarity after U.S. opts for annual CUSMA review - National | Globalnews.ca

Uncertainty is crippling for our investments and industry outlook. It sounds like we don't even know what an annual review is going to look like or what it'll mean.

I don't think people realize how much of a barrier to investment this is going to be. Nobody's going to put a nickel into Canada if they can't be sure of what the trade situation with the united states is going to be. Most investment in Canada is sort of predicated on the idea that the business would also be able to sell to the Americans

Under the proposal, young people aged 18-25 would complete the military training before serving in areas such as emergency preparedness, climate resilience and community service.

Michael Burns, chair of Engage Canada, said the initiative is designed to address two challenges facing the country: helping young people transition into the workforce while strengthening Canada’s ability to respond to national needs.

Immigration Cuts Are Hollowing Out Small Communities across Canada | The Walrus

I feel like over the years we've become dependent on the idea of cheap immigration labor to keep our businesses in towns going. I think it's smart to move away from that and force the towns to either find new ways to attract people and retain them or admit that they're not financially viable
