Sonic Game Recomendation?

So I by the powers that be I decided to look up some sonic games and was pleasantly surprised that they're all on sale and was looking for some recommendations. My only exposure to sonic is I know its a sort of action platformer and the franchise has changed a lot. Only games I've played was like a browser version of the OG and some spin off racing one on the Wii U.

I was definitely was gonna get frontiers and strongly considering sonic x shadow generations for like 30 bucks but I was wondering if there were any must haves

Questions about the steam frame

So first off I know pretty much everything is gonna speculative as we don’t actually have the thing and those that do can’t speak on it (tho I doubt that applies to anyone here)

By anyways my biggest concern is connectivity with that dongle, the only USB 3.0 I have on my computer is on the back. I remember reading this thing has poor obstacle penetration but I’m assuming that’s talking about walls and furniture, not a pc, but will that be a problem?

I do have some usb ports on the top, tho the quest link (can’t wait to ditch it) says they’re not usb 3.0 while the case does say they are (also one doesn’t work so I need to call customer support for that). So if the back usb port causes issue can the frame be used on a usb 2.0?

Now this one I’m already expecting the answer to be “we don’t really know until it’s out” but I have some glasses and was wondering if they’ll fit? They don’t sit super far off my face like I’ve seen some people wear readers but for everyday glasses they’re not pushed up against my face.

For my quest it’s has that default adjustable face thingy (idk what it call it), the thing that’s actually making contact with your face. If 2 is the closest/smallest you can make it and 4 is the roomiest it can be, I prefer it a 3 but is usable at a 2 if that info helps.

In terms of performance for flat screen games (again I know we have no idea for now) how’s it compare to the deck? in summer my family does a lot of travel and if the frame has more power than the deck I was thinking about using it together, for example use the deck on the flight or car ride and the frame at family’s or a hotel. This isn’t really a make or break factor for me just curious

Not frame specific but after I place the order (assuming I’m able to get my grubby goblin mitts on one) can I change the shipping address after ordering. My idea here is I’m worried it’s gonna be released while I’m on vacation, meaning released when I won’t be home and can’t take the package. So my idea would be if that happens ship is to order it, then change it to a friends house and they hold on to it until I’m back. Would that work? For both my deck and controller I didn’t need to change the address and I don’t wanna find out the hardway I can’t do that.

Modding Questions

So it's been a hot minute since I've last played, and overall I'm too far, 1 maybe 2 dwarves prestige for the first time. context aside point of this post is for modding.

I know the game has an in game mod manager, I haven't used it but I've heard it's doodoo. I know there's one popular one, but my thing is i play on both my pc and steam deck, preferably I'd want one that works on both so I can just have to learn one application. I also have no idea where to download mods so that would be helpful to know.

In terms of mods themselves since Im early I only wanna go for client side stuff, like heat gauges or platform previews. The thing is I read using the in game mod manager tags your game as modded (even with these clientside only mods), but not if your using one of the mod managers.

I probably have other questions but I am blanking, also had to leave and comeback to this post so hopefully this makes sense.

[Help][Palworld]

Copy pasted from a steam discussion I made that got buried

So for the most part I use steam workshop but I'm trying to install configurable xp gain. So first off is there a way to disable building/crafting/gathering xp without mods to save myself myself the headache. But can't seem to get it to work fully, picking items seems to work but im still getting the constant +2 xp (im assuming from a pal cooking berries non stop)
And this is all on my PC havent tried it on the deck yet.

But the reason I would like to do it manually is I hop between my pc (windows) and steam deck, and figured installing manually would save me the headache of finagling with some linux specific stuff and having to run the NMM app... and all that.

Some important details, I am using the workshop version of UE4SS on my PC, IDK if that makes a difference and I'm just being stupid and using something that doesnt work. However on my deck I have the github version with a protontricks fix and a launch command from a guide.

I feel like this is related to using the steam version but the description wants the mod to be installed in
...\Palworld\Pal\Binaries\Win64\Mods
However there was no mods folder so i made one, didnt work. Then through trial and error found it partially worked in
...\Palworld\Mods\NativeMods\UE4SS\Mods
where there was already a mods folder

And now im here scratching my head wondering if im being stupid

Vortex & Decky Questions

So I've had my deck for about a year, basically using steam cloud to swap between my laptop and deck. For my vortex question, I play some modded games using vortex, specifically cyberpunk. But how do I install vortex and for simpler mods is it plug and play when it comes to installing simple mods? Like once vortex is installed can I just download the mods with vortex. Most of my modding (like in noita for example) has been through steam workshop which syncs mods and load order across the two machine, but there are exceptions like the previously mentioned cyberpunk as well as skyrim (i think my modlist is too demanding for the deck)

As for Decky I saw this post and i know decky is for plugins and thats really it. Where can I download it and what else does it do?

As i was typing this out i was bouncing around thoughts, so hopefully theres a coherent questions somewhere in here

Edit: for decky I also have emudeck, decky says it can add acheivments and other things, what do those add?

Some Beginner Questions

Hello, so in the past I was considering Linux but that post was on a lemm.ee account, but I also had some other questions (and mostly forgot what was said on that thread). First off I remember a lot of recommendations for Bazzite and Mint as a good distro, however I'm against installing it myself as my dumb ass WILL find a way to mess things and end up with a several thousand dollar paper weight. There was recommendations to system76 as Linux comes preinstalled. Things i use, Steam for gaming, libre office for college work, proton drive for game and college backups, discord for ofc voice and text chat between friends

But first question: based on that is Linux even something for me? I don't really have a problem with microsoft, mostly that Linux is new (good in that its something different but also bad that i'll have to learn new things and potentially fix aforementioned things). But is it something that'll be worth potential headaches as I want a system that "Just works" (tm) and everythings good to go out of the box. And yes I'm aware posting in a Linux community will be biased but I'm having doubt about if it will be worth it to make the switch.

Second do things "just work" on linux, just install and go. The issue I dont want to run into is having to bug fix games or programs after a long day and wanting to unwind or an essay due where time is a factor.

I feel like i have more I just forgot :| so ill edit the post if anything comes up

Edit 1: also any hardware recommendations, I'm planning to go top of the line stuff so this PC can last me a while

With the upcoming recruits

Remember to show them the ropes and ease them into the game (as funny as it would be to drop them into level 10s I’ve ha people, myself included, drop some games because the difficulty was too high). With that said we are all in the fight to spread managed democracy, maybe call in a mech or recoilless rifle or keep them stocked up with a supply backpack.

Let’s show these recruits what it means to be super earth finest
