No Audio through steam link on quest 3
cross-posted from: https://piefed.zip/c/[email protected]/p/1936946/no-audio-through-steam-link-on-quest-3
So I'm trying to use the steam link on my quest 3 as the quest link (or whatever its called, the one in the quest's settings menu) has jittery movement. However steamlink has no audio. Posting an image below but it says the audio device is disabled and clicking the panel it doesn't look like it's disabled (I don't really know what I'm looking for). In VR settings I have audio mirroring set to system default, and in remote play settings I also have play audio on host but no luck. I am able to hear things just fine when streaming to my steam deck.
Edit: So pairing my airpods to my pc then using using that to play audio (from the pc) seems to work with enabling audio mirroring and playing audio on the host pc, tho I'd rather not have to wear ear pods, but it's better than no audio.
Also tried steam link through my phone where I can get audio if it's played out of my wired headphones but setting it to steam streaming speakers would cause no audio.

I don't know what the Steam Link menu looks like on a Quest, but I do know that stream audio can be toggled on and off from a setting in the Steam Link mobile app...
I would poke around in the Steam Link menus on your Quest, because if your Steam Deck streams the audio no problem then it sounds like the issue is on your Quest's end. I would also check the audio settings menu for the Quest itself.
Steam link for steam vr (to my knowledge) isn't an app like the mobile version, more of a way for steam vr to recognize the headset. So any settings would be the remote settings and vr setting on my computer. Also I don't know if you can see the images, but steam vr specifically says the streaming speakers are disabled, while clicking into that sound control panel says they aren't (I think?)
Tho I did decide to boot up steam link on my phone, audio works IF I set it to play out of my headphones (switching to the steam speakers would cause it to mute) so now I'm even more confused... yay
