I've been down this rabbit hole and here's the haul from Wonderland:

Conventional:

• Heliboard - Has glide typing, but the available library is unstable and old. The most polished.

• Florisboard - Currently under heavy development, but what's there is more than usable and very well done.

• Unexpected Keyboard - I actually love this one, but as a Fold user I need some auto correct. Uses swipe motions on each key for symbols and punctuation.

Unconventional:

• Thumbkey - A 3x3 grid using taps and swipes to type. I flip flop between this and Heliboard atm. Has circular motions to input caps or numbers. MASSIVE amount of layouts, including language, programmer, writer and more. Easy layout switch key on the fly.

• Flickboard - Same setup as Thumbkey. This would be my go to ever since they added a landscape layout that smart switches on inner Fold screen, but there's no separate key height for it, so you have to deal with non-uniform on one screen which isn't easy to type on. Also has circular motion for caps. No numeric, but there's the option of having a small number column.

• 8vim - The only one of it's kind since 8pen died. I'm learning this one and it's great, but wonky on inner Fold screen. Its hard to explain, but you use circular motions around on X wheel to input whole words at a time letter by letter. Start center, drag out into a quadrant, rotate to get your letter, go back to center, without lifting go to your next quadrant for the next letter. When you're done and back on center, let go to insert space, or you can move out into a quadrant then lift to end without a space. Takes a lot of getting used to.

Agreed. I NEETed for five years. Never left my apartment, sponged off my gf, terrified of going out. Even that long is hard to get out of.

Thankfully I kept my weight mostly in check and I still had some humble charisma when I needed to interact with people. This let me seek help which culminated in severe anxiety and sleep apnea diagnoses.

Let me tell you, though. Even 5 years is enough to make any sort of potential employer wrinkle their nose at your application. I had to dig hard through my grave topsoil.

I recently rediscovered RSS with Read You on F-Droid (I enjoy it's UI and bionic reading). I also found something on Github called Follow that I use on my desktop running CachyOS.

People should be rediscovering RSS. It's news that you tailor to yourself and doesn't come bundled with the "social" part of social media.

I like how every panel is redrawn, not copied. Doesn't look to be traced either. As a professional classroom doodler, I can tell you that that's not easy...

The first thing he'd ever tell you is that he ate human flesh. Apparently, him and a buddy were cooking something and his buddy cut the tip of his finger off on the cutting board. He said that they both stared at it for a long time before my coworker asked, "Can I eat that?" If its true, these guys had to have been blasted.

Shame he was fired for sleeping on the job.

As someone who originally fell for that trick, bless them. I've since learned how to do it right and became a dirty distrohopper.

Either that or some Linux wizard cast the "every time you get your distro perfectly set up and stable you get bored and install another one" curse on me.

My much brainier than me friend was telling me about the courses he was taking to apply to Oracle. I had to break it to him how far down they've fallen, and not to expect anything working for them. He's smart, but not in the right social channels like the Fediverse to see what the real people are saying.

Good news to me. I can watch reddit and twitter self destruct from the comfort of the Fediverse. Welcome home, fellow refugees.

I 100% do. I think mp3 is a good compromise of sound and space. It's also the format I'm used to. Just like how people swear by physical record. If I'm at a get together and hear mp3 quality, I'm at home.

That being said, I have my absolute favorites in flac for my iPod 5th gen video I rebuilt. The 5th gen's dac, Wolfson, is a solid little dac for the day and age. Got Rockbox loaded up and I'm ace, but I've hard saved all the Apple firmware for every model in case the time came to sell them. Old iPods could be an investment someday and I own every gen in multiples.

Is it a tetrahedron? I don't want to pretend I know anything about mathematics and geometry. Calling him D4 Head would be more my speed.

I remember when I was picked on at work for how big my Note 3 was. They used to call it "my insecurity". Now it's basically smaller than the smallest standard size.

The Note 3 did look ridiculously large back then. Kind of insane.

I like it. To me, it feels like it means "separate, but unified".

I also just found out that it's the Fediverse logo.

Maybe a bit plain since I'm only at mediocre level in my Linux journey, but I use my favorite fonts for Kitty. Recursive Mono Linear and then for italics and comments in neovim I use Recursive Mono Casual Italic.

Recursive Linear is so tidy and neat, with just the lightest touch of personality. And Casual keeps that style but tweaks it just ever so slightly to a more comic. And they have sans versions of both as well for everything else.

I also made my own Starship prompt to match my desktop. It runs an easily reconfigurable color palette and uses color coded chevrons to denote different git statuses.

I never stopped. Big corp always lulls us into a false sense of security before springing the trap. I streamed for a little while but always kept me sails dusted.

Its not lost on me that AI portrays Biblically accurate angels more machine than organic. And that's a camera in the center if I've ever seen one. Interesting.
