Peacock has ads when pausing a movie to read the text

You know what doesn't have ads, ever? Pirated movies and shows.

Why pay insane extortion fees for a deliberately worse experience? It's like paying somebody to slap you in the face instead of enjoying a free, uninterrupted walk in the park.

As long as these satanic corporations continue to be focused on making their services as unusable and expensive as remotely possible - there's literally no reason to pay for them, other than donating to a pedophile cult.

Ethicapitalism

Modern ethics, or school ethics, are a tool of indoctrination.

What you're being taught isn't necessarily false, but some of it (might be a lot depending where you live) is just one side of the picture. It's manipulative, as designed.

It'd be true to say that slave owners or dictators are people just like the rest of us. They may not be living perfect lives, and perhaps sometimes they struggle with one issue or another.

But it completely ignores the other side of the equation. On one side a single person is frustrated because they still can't find the perfect mega yacht to purchase with spare change they had lying around. On the other countless people are starving to death, with no way to change their fate.

Keep in mind this is just one topic that may or may not be brought up during an ethics class, depending where you live and what school you go to. It's by no means representative of every education system everywhere.

Capitalism is an unrealistic death cult.

One of the reasons why capitalism seems to work so well in Western democracies is because it's short-sighted.

Capitalism focuses on the immediate future - the next year or a few years, and any material gains that can be made in that time frame. Businesses rarely plan for 10+ years into the future, because their products or services may no longer be financially feasible by then.

Just like our democratic governments focus on the next 4 years or less, because afterwards the government will likely change. No point making plans that your political opponents will benefit from. Which is also why the West can't get anything substantial done.

German trains on a typical Wednesday in 2026

It's kind of insane how vast the world, and everything humans have built on it so far is.

Take those ~1800 trains running simultaneously in the middle of the day in Germany. Each one weighs like dozens of tons and carries up to hundreds of passengers.

Now multiply that several times for all the trains running simultaneously in the middle of the day in all of Europe.

Then look at countries like Russia or China that completely dwarf Europe when it comes to [actively used] rail networks.

The US alone has 220 thousand kilometers of railroads. That's more than half of the distance from Earth to the Moon. Add China's 160 thousand and it'd be enough to take a train all the way to the Moon.

And this is only trains.

Maybe it's just me, but... where did all of that come from? Absolutely stunning.

GTA 6 leaks prompt Take-Two to subpoena Microsoft for Windows device IDs of everyone in three Discord servers — daily gameplay leaks shatter cloud of secrecy around the much-hyped game

Daily reminder that buying GTA 6, or any other Rockstar game for that matter, directly supports some of the worst oligarchy and authoritarianism present in the west.

Instead of buying any of their worthless slop - pirate, seed, don't even play it, share any and all leaks. Do your part to hurt their bottom line, and let us hope another Luigi takes up the case. Or ten.

Buying new trends is a choice

Right now is the best time to play old games. Retro gaming handhelds have never been better, and honestly there's little to improve in them at this point.

Get yourself a retro handheld for as little as $100, that will feel more premium than a Steam Deck, and start playing games that came out before you were born.

I've genuinely forgotten how bad the current video game industry is, because I'm so busy having a blast with older/retro titles.

Highly recommend to all gamers.
