This is probably going to lead to the media accusing the protesters of being hackers.

Terraria Dev: After 12 years the game still sells like hot cakes. There is so much demand it makes it hard to move on
This is what happens when you make a good game and continue supporting it. Other devs should be taking notes.

Websites telling me what I can do with my own browser so they can have their pointless cookies
It's not pointless, it's so they can track you.
what a misnomer too
It's crazy how many people think "incognito mode" prevents people from seeing what websites they are visiting.

It doesn't matter how easy or hard it is. It should be just as easy to cancel as it is to subscribe. It should be the same amount of steps, or less.

Reddit is in danger of a death spiral
A lot of the mods won't want to give up the power. That's why the original "protest" was only 2 days, it was never meant to be serious. A lot of users have left to come here, but there are way more who will never leave reddit, no matter how bad it gets.

The Minecraft subreddit isn't closing, Mojang staff just won't be posting there anymore.

They probably don't want to learn, so they won't try to learn how to use Lemmy or Kbin.

I do agree with OP on the thing about smokers though. You shouldn't get special privileges just because you're a drug addict.

The main developer of the official android app for lemmy, Jerboa, is a communist

We are individuals with our own opinions. If you disagree with these, it is no problem! You can still freely use the Lemmy software on different instances. If you host your own instance, we have no control over it at all and are unable to censor what users say.
Regarding development, we are happy to collaborate with anyone who is willing to put in the work, regardless of politics.
That was written by the same person. It seems they are willing to put aside politics to make something great for everyone.

Throwback to reddit serving posts / ads from blocked users because $$$
It's not just ads. They used to hide posts made by blocked users but they stopped doing that a while ago. Blocking doesn't do anything anymore. There is also a limit to how many accounts you can block, which is easy to reach just by blocking bots.
