Hello, fellow humans.

Brent Spiner might be a seriously underrated actor. My two fav Data episodes are 'A Fistful of Datas' where Spiner is playing as multiple holodeck characters at once, and (forgot ep name) where he's taken over by an entire alien civilization and he's rapidly switching between multiple alien personalities. Watching Brent Spiner perform Data's complex roles is a friggin' master class in acting. Watching Data "glitch" mid sentance for example. Spiner is just incredible

Walmart seems to ONLY have a “technical issue” when it comes to requesting a refund. All other areas of the website work perfectly fine!

If you have a Walmart card, there's a similar annoyance with the Capital One app on my phone. The screen to pay your bill scrolls up and down just fine, so you can scroll down to pay. The screen to redeem your collected points for cash back? Yeah, no. The screen doesn't scroll, so I can't get far enough down to swipe the submit widget.

Alexandria - FOSS Cross-Platform E-Book Reader

Well done!

Just a heads up though, there's an existing server/client app combo also named Alexandria commonly used in public schools and libraries (in the US anyway). It's more of a book inventory and check-out system, but the shared name for a related app could still cause some confusion, and might prevent schools and libraries from utilizing your helpful tool.

Just thought you should know. Your efforts deserve to stand on their own!

Democrats win in Republican stronghold in Texas

Perfect summation of US politics right there. There are ways around these limitations like ranked-choice voting (or similar), but both parties have a vested interested in actively blocking any change that could potentially break up their monopoly. In the meantime, our options are basically to continue trying to vote in more progressive candidates to represent us (and hope they don't get corrupted as quickly by corporate-run politics), or take more "aggressive" action and become a targetted enemy of the state.
