[AIT] The Codeberg ban on LLM content
From what I understand from their blogpost, it was mostly about conserving their own resources, because a lot of the vibecoded projects they got were uploading insane amounts of binary releases and wasting resources on CI/CD while having no users or other collaborators.
They wanna reserve more server space for projects, that actually productively use it, like bigger FOSS projects with actual users and contributors.
That is perfectly understandable for me, even without taking my huge distaste for AI into consideration. Anyone that thinks, that this small, community funded project is obligated to host their huge slop repos semms pretty entitled to me.

'The golden years are not golden’: Boomers are hoarding most of America’s wealth and power because they’re terrified of outliving their money
It's not an age thing, it's a class thing. This is just a psyop to direct anger away from the Epstein class.
No war, but class war.

You could also consider donating it to the projects you are hosting. Because developing that software still takes a lot of labour and these devs really need it

Funny thing is, the US government doesn't even have nearly enough money to bail all these mfa out. So we are heading into uncharted territory here

Consume
Marx doesn't care about your individual participation in capitalism.
He was much more interested in systemic level critique. Your individual consumption will change nothing about the broader incentive structures that produce bad outcomes under capitalism.

Instagram Plus Is a New Low | Drive yourself crazy for the low price of $3.99 a month
What I found much more interesting than the new subscription, was all their weird obsessive behaviours the author described, which seem to almost normalized in her mind.
Like memorizing all the followers of your ex and checking regularly if they have new ones, to see if they have a new relationship. Or checking, if your exes look at your stories.
I am very glad, I am not involved with social media (and most of my friends as well), because it seems to exadurate your worst impulses in a way, that I would have never thought could be normalized in our society.

The great thing about git is, that it is pretty decentralized in principle (everyone has a full copy of all source code and commits on their machines), so it is pretty easy to move your whole repository to an alternative git hoster, like Codeberg.

Isn't that kind of the definition of a revolution?
