UK Has Passed The Online Safety Bill

After bouncing back and forth between the house of lord's and the house of commons This bill is a shadow of it's former self. I'm glad to say.

Three things that were massively damaging for privacy and security have, as far as I can see, been scrapped.

  1. The bill no longer requires tech companies to control 'harmful but legal' content. A blurry, ill defined concept that would have been impossible to regulate.
  2. The bill no longer requires all end to end encrypted communication channel's (WhatsApp etc) to have a backdoor for governments and enforcement agencies to access unencrypted messages between people. Something that would have broken effective security in every way.
  3. The bill no longer requires porn to only be accessible to UK citizens after they have proven they are an adult. This was by providing bank details or ID to porn websites (lol no thanks), possibly through a third party company that is supposed to assure some privacy ( lol still no thanks).

And what's left in the bill is going to be regulated by Ofcom, a toothless underfunded shell of a regulatory body.

Virginia Giuffre, Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein accuser, dies by suicide

RIP. She was a fighter and a hero.

We can lament the lack of full justice but please let's not forget this woman's massive achievements...

Epstein died awaiting trial. Maxwell is doing 20 years. Andrew is a social pariah who has been ejected from the royal family. And everyone around the world knows about Epstein's trafficking ring.

None of this would have happened without Giuffre's tenacity and bravery for so long in the face of insurmountable odds and incredibly powerful people.

It's not justice until every charge is answered for and every perpetrator faces trial. BUT.. this woman achieved so much and deserves to be remembered as such.

Let's not frame her as a downtrodden victim. She's a fucking fighter. And she won an astounding victory. This woman felled giants.

You're reinterpreting the comment and doing so in a way that misses the crux of their argument.

They are commenting on the cartoon being a vengeance fantasy against women. Which it is.

NATO chief calls Trump ‘Daddy’

This is what diplomacy with a narcissist looks like, and everyone is doing it. Trump whisperers are in hot demand.

The bit I find funny is trump is so dense he doesn't even realise he's being spoken to and manipulated like you would a child. In this case for a good cause, so well done Rutte.

Why Cities: Skylines 2 performs poorly

It looks like the biggest culprit is poor or non existent lod's on the models. Strikes me as odd though as that's a pretty basic art requirement for a game like this. I don't see how this took them by suprise.

I guess the good news is that's it's easily fixable. It's not like ksp2 which looks like it has some pretty unsolvable core issues.

I think that was potassium-permanganate and sugar. It was one of the saner recipes ( who really wants to blow their face off or smoke banana skins ) with somewhat easily available ingredients.

It was legit. But the temperature window between melting the ingredients together and igniting it was very narrow. We did what your friend did, we made the smoke bomb and also set it off in one go.

Your friend must've been in a while ton of shit.
