MAGA Spirals After Pro-Israel Politics Loses Big-Time in NY Election

Appearing on Fox News, deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller complained that the “Democrat Party has abandoned [centrism] and instead adopted this radical, revolutionary, and in many cases, violent ideology that wants to tear America down, and destroy everything that we know and love, from top to bottom.”

That's MAGA in a nutshell. Jan 6 was a show of violence, and Project 2025 intends to destroy the liberal state. The Trump admin is projecting their own characteristics onto the opposition.

40 mayors worldwide endorse a pact to shape data center development

The pact lists several standards for data center developments. Urban data centers should be built on abandoned or underutilized land in an area that minimizes negative impacts on noise, heat and air pollution. Developments should be fueled by renewable energy and battery storage, and data centers should reduce water use and emissions, as well as capture waste heat.

...

As of Tuesday, none of Southeast Asia’s cities endorsed the pact. Several said they couldn’t because of national policies or other complications, but the conversations are ongoing, C40 said.

How many words do you require? I wrote, "There's no climate change." The Trump admin is well known for considering climate change a hoax. However, this story is what I had in mind when I wrote that sentence, I'm pretty sure it was a Lemmy.world link from the same day, although I do get text-based news elsewhere.

I also wrote, "Renewable energy plants are too expensive!" Note the exclamation point"!". I often use it instead of a smiley or a sarcasm mark. Sarcasm doesn't really apply to a truthful observation, such as "I wish it was sarcasm," and I'm often in a state of indecision in such cases. But perhaps my posting history would explain better? I'm not sure what 35 square miles of photovoltaics would cost, I seem to recall "billions" of dollars being mentioned. What is the cost of some natural gas turbines in comparison?

Do you suppose if and when Democrats take back power from Republicans, these natural-gas turbines can be legally shut down and renewable-energy plants mandated? Will they be allowed to continue operations instead? Do you suppose that the powers that be will just extract every last barrel of crude they can extract and turn it into CO2?

World Professional Association for Transgender Health Is Government’s New Target

Religion being legislatively "untouchable" is a good part of the reason why the sexual and gender discrimination and hate is so persistent. For example, the bible advocates beating children with a rod until their bellies are striped (black and blue), among other assertions, such as "god made Adam and Eve". Per the First Amendment, government regulators are not allowed to synchronize the bible's text with current law and scientific understanding. Any battles for equality fought and won by prior generations have the cultural and religious negative pressure reapplied in future generations, because preachers continue preaching ancient, outdated texts, and indoctrinate children into these immoral and unscientific beliefs.
