What noise annoys you the most?

Any noise that I don’t know is an immediate problem for me. If I don’t know what it is and I can hear it, I absolutely have to stop what I’m doing and find out. I can’t convince myself to stop this because it’s actually led me to detecting leaky pipes in my house twice now, right as they broke.

Also the sound of cotton balls rubbing together. Horrendous. And coil whine of electronics, that’s awful too. As is just the sound of electricity in general, like fluorescent lights make an awful noise. I’m gonna stop here before this becomes a novel.

Never had my hearing tested but I can say anecdotally that many times I have been at work listening to music from my computer and had people walk up to me to talk to, which leads to me saying “let me pause my music” and them to respond “what music?” I often have the volume on everything that has controllable volume as low as I can possibly set it.

I very often hear things no one else does, to the point people think I’m insane because I’m absolutely hearing it but no one else can so they don’t believe me.

Luigi Mangione shouts at media as police rush him into court

Reply in thread

He’s claiming the police planted evidence on him as a attempt to justify denying bail. Specifically he says they planted a large amount of cash that he didn’t have on him ever and has no idea where it came from, and they lied about a waterproof bag he had for his phone, saying it was a faraday cage, and claiming his possession of such an item means he’s too sophisticated a criminal to be allowed bail.

He knows what’s coming. They aren’t gonna want him to get to speak to a jury because it’s not gonna be a guarantee they convict him. If he gets a not guilty verdict, that would be VERY bad for the ruling class, so that’s not gonna be allowed to possibly happen.

Linux Inventor Says He Doesn’t Believe in Crypto

Tangible items can have utility in the real world, where cryptocurrencies can never be anything more than numbers on a display.

Gold can be used in electronics, and I get that people are mad that currencies are just something we all mutually agree have value, but generally speaking powerful governments back those up. Cryptocurrency is backed up by people promising it’s totally gonna be a real currency any second now. Please ignore that crypto can wildly fluctuate in value which generally a horrible thing for a currency to do.

Zelensky admits Ukraine does not have military strength to reclaim lost territories from Russia

Hey I have a question. What precipitating circumstances made all of this necessary? Was there like, I dunno, another country that invaded or anything? It sure would change the context of everything you were saying if there was some kind of external event that made these things happen and they aren’t just occurring in a vacuum! Not to mention the stuff you’re just outright lying about, almost like you’re working in service of some other group that may or may not have an interest in this particular situation, but again, you’re insisting all this happened in a vacuum so that can’t be true!
