OpenAI announces leadership transition

Mr. Altman’s departure follows a deliberative review process by the board, which concluded that he was not consistently candid in his communications with the board, hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities. The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI.

Now that is a damning statement. Usually an exec being fired is through sugar coated language like spending time with family, wants a new challenge, took a roll elsewhere, or retiring.

As someone who has to prep docs for the board review meetings, I'm super curious as to what he lied about

My manager asked what I thought about our back to office announcement last month and I said it sounds like voluntary layoffs because if they cared about moral they would compensate us for going back. He laughed and said you're probably right.

What the Hell Happened to my Cookies?

Reply in thread

Usually cookies need baking soda, not baking powder. If they call for both, it's at least 2x baking soda. People mix it up and add baking powder instead of soda.

Or if the cookie requires levening from the powder and it's expired, it will not rise and spread.

Soda helps with browning and powder is for levening

My wife every two weeks:

A few reasons I clean before they arrive:

  • They're not paid great so I'd rather not inconvenience them too much and let them get into their next gig faster.
  • I don't want them putting non dishwasher items in the dishwasher and potentially ruining them.
  • You will lose items because they're organizing your place and will put stuff not where you expect it.
  • They tend to do a deeper clean when they're not focusing on cleaning up the smaller stuff you can take care of yourself
