I worked at a place where a site had to show the number of members, but for some reason it didn't show the correct number. The reason was the query to the database was wrong, I corrected it in five minutes and the boss told me to put numbers manually, increasing them until we could display the correct query result because apparently the problem was there a long time before I started working there and it would make a bad image for the company if it was so easily corrected.

On other project a friend of mine told me about things were so slow and getting slower with time. Database didn't have keys, indexes, nothing you should expect a relational database to have.

I haven't worked in a while because of my health issues and I can assure you I'd be happier getting paid for watering plants than working with computers.

In Spain there is chaos regarding cat colonies. We don't know how many there are, how many cats, how many people pouring food... But we make laws protecting cat colonies and forbidding you from feeding birds because it could cause a rise in pests like rats and cockroaches. Like those are not eating cat food smh.
So I have zero hopes regarding this topic.

Groups of feral cats living mostly on urban environments that are supposed to have a community of caregivers backing them, bringing them foods and veterinary assistance. The only thing they do to control the population, according to those caregivers, is the Capture-Sterilization-Return method, that consists in progressively sterilizing the cats in the colony so they don't reproduce and the colony should decrease and eventually disappear. This method is obviously not working because, after decades, cat colonies should be on the brink of disappearance, but they are flourishing.

In my city is specially concerning for me that many are near rivers and the small forested area around the water, where many species of birds should be thriving; I am surprised because there are more species than I could expect in this circumstances. I haven't seen amphibians... Probably ever. One year I heard a frog calling, and that's it. The decline of reptiles is also heartbreaking. I've seen hedgehogs and I recently read that they loose their teeth munching on dry cat food.

So... Silicon is collected, processed, made into glass, we use the glass, then the glass gets pulverized and added to the soil and we make new glass... And all the energy used? We could use a glass jar until it brakes, cleaning it and reusing it, and once it breaks recycling it into another jar or bottle or whatever is better than making new glass.

How is this any good? Even if refined silicon from glass is more efficient for the nutrient thing than silica sand, it's just adding another thing to the list of things we keep adding to the soil instead of creating a healthy soil and reducing our consumption. I understand nothing.

That said, animal farming is unethical and completely unnecessary nowadays. Most people would agree that killing an animal just for pleasure would be ethically wrong, but then we as a society rape to breed, grow in terrible conditions and kill in nightmarish ways farm animals just because "meat is good".
