Cathy, do the math.
There are two schools of thought:
Those who want as good life as possible, and Those who want to have a better life than everyone else, no matter what.

Not so sure about that, given that I'm pretty sure there's a full sized Mercedes in the back row, and what to me looks like a Volvo in the middle slot, facing the camera.

Are display sizes always measured in inches?
I wouldn't call it "measured in inches" as much as they are "named" with a partly numerical name, which may or may not be an adequate correspondence with a different country's length scale.
It's similar with bicycles: many tires are named in inches. Two tires with the same number of "inches" may however not have the same diameter, so to translate size-names into measurements is fraught with pitfalls.

That's soo my wife.
Friends coming over for dinner, and we want another two seats available at the table? I'd better make her clear off that table because otherwise there'll be another round of "NOOOO, you moved stuff, now I'll never be able to find anything again". "Sweetie, it's all on the side table. I moved the stuff pile by pile, didn't mix the piles" "It's forever gone!"

-50C is real cold - about as cold as regular humans will ever be exposed to, and survive, anywhere (outside of Antarctica). +50C is real hot - about as hot as regular humans will ever be exposed to (and survive).
Nice and symmetric.
Of course there's a little bit of flexibility in these descriptions. I believe both Baghdad and Yarkutsk have surpassed their respective "50"-lines without killing their complete populations.

Belgium Rules Sharing Americans’ Bank Data Violates Privacy Law
As a European living in the US, this might also mean that my European bank (that I intentionally didn't leave when I moved, for reasons) will close my account.

Belgium Rules Sharing Americans’ Bank Data Violates Privacy Law
Reply in thread
I don't know the method by which my bank (which is European, indeed) could be punished by US if they didn't share the data that IRS and FINCEN wants, true, at least if they don't have any official activities in the US. I think I recall the was something about US strongarming every other country into effectively making FATCA reporting into local law? (Maybe that'll change?) What else could US do? Designate officers of the non-cooperative bank as "money laundrers" and make their private lives hell on the international arena?
What I do know is that they (my bank) already is unhappy about the fact that I'm a "US person" and they've told me as much in person. They do not allow me to open new accounts. They do not allow me to do any trades beyond moving money between the savings accounts and use their bank card (which I do use when I'm in Europe). They would however allow me to close my accounts! Half their internet banking site is off-limits to me - it's sometimes difficult to access documents like annual statements because the logical path to that part of the site got roped off!
I'm pretty sure they're already looking for an excuse to cut me off.

Since Andy Yen's unfortunate comments, have any of you left Proton? And if so, what alternative did you choose?
Me +wife were seriously considering switching to proton, but we had been "considering" for like half a year. So while the transfer now has been officially put on hold indefinitely, that's in practice no different from how it was before :)
Have considered tuta but there are several reasons I'm not sold on that service - primarily that they manage to give me (who isn't a techie!) the impression (I might be wrong...) of a walled garden where all the benefits /convenience of the service evaporate (??) as soon as you need to talk to a non-tuta user.(??)
