If that doesn't work, you could always deport as many vulnerable members of the lowest stratum of society, so you couldn't work the factories even if you had the materials.

J. Robert Oppenheimer’s Grandson Says He “Definitely Would Have Removed” One Scene in Christopher Nolan’s Film
Due to historical inaccuracy,
Charles would have preferred the scene where Cillian Murphy’s Oppenheimer tried to kill his professor by injecting cyanide into an apple not have been included in the film.

Trump's victory erases GOP skepticism of election results, poll finds
I'm shocked. What an incredible surprise. It's almost like their opinion of the legitimacy of the election depends on the winner.

When scientists want to publish their results, the paper first goes to one or more referees (usually anonymous), who advise the editor about the quality of the paper. It is common for referees to ask why the original author(s) did not consider a particular question as part of their work. The reply in the cartoon is commonly used by the author to defuse that question, essentially saying we didn't consider that question because it's too much work, and just publish what I've done already, dammit.

Firing people responsible for nuclear weapons and now bird flu. That's war and pestilence. Any more horsemen of the apocalypse we want to loose?

Trump’s GOP is already dying
Don't overestimate the strength of conviction of individual Republicans. Given the choice between upholding their principles and maintaining their position, the great majority of them choose the latter every time.

JD Vance has no spine
I don't think it's lack of spine. I think he's deliberately sold his soul for power and influence and money.

Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need. (Acts 4:32-35)
Wow, those apostles and primitive Christians completely missed the metaphor!
