Why are there so many apps that could be websites?
Reply in thread
This exactly. Just ask for some location rights in the app and get access to wifi also.
Most users don't mind giving an app a large amount of access and in doing so, a lot of personal information gets exposed.
If you have a choice, use a website.

What was Linux like in the 90s
Alrighty, old Linux user from the earliest of days.
It was fun, really great to have one-on-one with Linus when Lilo gave issues with the graphic card and the screen kept blank during booting.
It was new, few fellow students where interested, but the few that did, all have serious jobs in IT right know.
Probably the mindset and the drive to test out new stuff, combined with the power Linux gave.

What do I need to separate devices to its own no-internet network and still be able to communicate with within the house and outside? (Diagram provided)
Vlans firewall rules and something to route between the different networks.
This can all be achieved with pretty much every Linux installation.

Does anyone else here have lupus? Just got diagnosed and I am really scared/upset
Not medically trained or experiencing any illnesses, but keep this in mind:
In just a few years, the medical world made huge steps in treating a lot of things using RNA techniques.
Don't compare a situation 10 or 20 years ago with the possibilities today.

When your garage is REALLY cold
If it is too cold for the equipment, it is too cold for me.
This error is a nice indication for me that I need to turn up the diesel heater before starting the voron.

Exactly this. Foolish ideas from someone behind a desk.
Nerds and hackers will win this easily.

A new pilot will investigate the use of Forgejo (A non profit FOSS alternative to github and gitea) in german schools
Noticed someone mentioning this (the product ) last weekend and did a next-next-finish install on some old hardware.
This is really nice, got me some nice actions running already.
I used to build locally and use git, cgit and Trac, but will probably move everything to forgejo.

Immich - 2024 Recap 🎊
Thanks for all the hard work, delivering a great piece of software!
Immich server key purchased a few weeks ago, was the least I could do.
Using the go application to import the Google takeout zip file is a really good way to improve the WAF.
Thanks!

Be the cool kid on the block and start hosting your own forgejo instance.
Did Azure DevOps (yuck), did GitHub (meh) now very happy with forgejo.
