Do many others also feel life is another chore?

I suggest trying antidepressants. Obviously I can't diagnose you from one post, but my impression is that your problem is primarily in your ability (or lack thereof) to enjoy your circumstances, not in your circumstances themselves. For what it's worth, I'm an adult with a good job, few responsibilities, and enough money to buy anything I might reasonably want and I still need my bupropion - it's just something about how my brain works, not anything in the external world.

Time really does fly, so what 'I feel old' moment have you come to realize based on how long it's been?

Being told that my girlfriend was probably too old to have children naturally - technically about her age rather than mine, but we were close in age.

A few years earlier, seeing people born when I graduated from high school graduating from high school themselves.

Or before even that, living longer than my mom had - she died young but I hadn't really felt how young.

One In Five Drivers Switches Off The Safety Tech Meant To Save Their Lives

I deliberately sought out a car without that stuff when I had to buy a new(er) car recently. It's usually quite annoying - the worst was a rental car that had an alarm buzz whenever I activated my turn signal while there was another car anywhere near my blind spot.

IMO the only technological improvement from the last decade and a half that's worth having is a backup camera, and that's only because I must shamefully confess to being terrible at parallel parking without one despite having years of practice. (I was tempted to buy a Miata since they still have real dials, but ultimately I did settle for a car with a digital display instead of an instrument panel.)

Another democratic socialist victory – Angie Nixon in Florida – sends shock waves through party establishment

Reply in thread

Ashley Moody, the Republican candidate, was elected by a 21-point margin last time. If only the people voting in the Democratic primary vote for the Democrat in the general election, the Democrat definitely loses. So yeah, in this case I trust establishment leaders to do what might have won the election. Vindman still probably would have lost, but at least he had a chance.

Ukrainian drones now spray 4,000° F thermite streams right into Russian trenches

This is what international law has to say about incendiary weapons:

  1. It is prohibited in all circumstances to make the civilian population as such, individual civilians or civilian objects the object of attack by incendiary weapons.
  1. It is prohibited in all circumstances to make any military objective located within a concentration of civilians the object of attack by air-delivered incendiary weapons.
  1. It is further prohibited to make any military objective located within a concentration of civilians the object of attack by means of incendiary weapons other than air-delivered incendiary weapons, except when such military objective is clearly separated from the concentration of civilians and all feasible precautions are taken with a view to limiting the incendiary effects to the military objective and to avoiding, and in any event to minimizing, incidental loss of civilian life, injury to civilians and damage to civilian objects.
  1. It is prohibited to make forests or other kinds of plant cover the object of attack by incendiary weapons except when such natural elements are used to cover, conceal or camouflage combatants or other military objectives, or are themselves military objectives.

This treeline is clearly not located within a concentration of civilians and it is concealing (or plausibly believed to be concealing) enemy combatants and therefore the use of incendiary weapons is unambiguously legal.

Anon sets the mood

  1. Meet woman, don't be weird.

  2. Gradually build a loving, trusting relationship.

  3. She has to get surgery and she'll be bed-bound while she recovers.

  4. "Will you take care of me, Anon?"

  5. Lord of the Rings marathon. The director's cuts. She can't run.

Choices

I used to worry about what women would think when they saw my home, but it turned out that none of them ever see it at all so I might as well be true to myself and collect all the My Little Ponies.

So drinking a real-world cow's milk is ok, but drinking a Zootopia cow's milk would not be ok because... the Zootopia cow is presumably a full member of society who earns a living by consensually being milked?

Sooo, where did the blatant Nazism suddenly come from?

The fact that the salute is so offensive, they did it so blatantly, and their denial was so disingenuous is the point. It's a demonstration of power. They can do a Nazi salute and their opponents can't punish them. They can deny that they did a Nazi salute and their opponents can't control the narrative. If they did something more subtle, then people might think that they weren't facing any consequences because their opponents were giving them the benefit of the doubt. With the Nazi salute there is no doubt. The only explanation for why they aren't facing any consequences is that their opponents are powerless.
