It's time to admit Lemmy has won the "the biggest reddit alternative" award, why it's time for all of us to consider supporting it (here's why) + reopening r/LemmyMigration

Lemmy is like 1/2 of what reddit was able to do for me. I haven't gone back to reddit since the exodus, I deleted all my posts and my account and never went back. But even now when I need information on anything from a community it's always reddit that pops up with the information that I need. I understand this is because of userbase and interacting with it but lemmy has not been able to do that effectively yet.

Granted I did post about a fish for my fishtank here and it was answered actually pretty quickly.

I think I'm just not understanding what instances and the feddiverse is. Most posts I'm interested in have like 1 or 2 comments, and half the time they're not useful interactions. It just feels kind of dead here. And again I understand it's because of the lack of interaction and userbase. But to say it's better than reddit or the best alternative is being a little frivolous.

Sanders: Democratic Party ‘has abandoned working class people’

Hi. Working tradesman. I still voted blue even when the 4 years under trump were mostly better for me than under Biden. Of course most likely coasting off of Obama's era. But I got no relief under Biden. I pay $20k a year for my Healthcare and still have to pay thousands a year out of pocket for visits. My family in Ukraine is still unsure what's going to happen in the next year. Many of brothers in my local are unemployed now during the hardest time to pay to live. We hear the record profits the corporations made and swindled the working class dry so we can eat yet there has been no relief. How did making 6 figures for a family of 5 turn into almost living pay check to pay check.

I'm ok with sacrifice if it means others get the help they need. But I don't think anyone got the help they needed. We sacrificed for no benifit to anyone but the elite, and we are continuing to be ignored.

This is what Sanders is talking about. And I'm afraid of what Trump is going to do for many Americans. For my Ukrainian family back home. For my neighbor who is Taiwanese. But recently I'm more worried to keep food on the table for my kids. I don't even care who won anymore. I have election and political fatigue. I did what was asked. I keep doing what everyone thinks is right. But I'm burning out.

Is saying the word retarded without calling some it disrespectful? Is it now a trigger word? I'm genuinely wondering. Because when we were growing up we used the word EVERYWHERE. It was as common as saying "fricken"

Wait really? Just using genocide gets you banned in politics? What a bunch of shmeggs. I got banned there years ago because the mods simply went through my post history. I'm still shook with how the narrative and mind of users are tilted towards a very skewed viewpoint.

Some people believe the user base of reddit is diverse, and they're getting a healthy view of the world. Unbewknowest to them they find themselves dumbfounded when the world isn't conforming to what they believe is the majority opinion
