These are the privacy permissions that you grant for Meta's new twitter competitor
Well if you download a Facebook owned app you should expect this.

YSK: You can post comments to Peertube videos as a Lemmy user
So we have decentralised versions or Twitter, Reddit and YouTube? What a great time this is.

It’s the volume of person data it scoops up. I don’t understand why anyone would happily share that much information just to use a social media app.

So the 2027 iPhone should have USB-C and a removable battery as long as it’s bought in the EU. Luckily they’re all unlocked and it’s only 35 minutes on the train from England to France. Guess I’ll be getting my phones from France from 2027.

Stroke victim discharged from a hospital due to lack of insurance, police were called when she refused to leave. She died in police custody.
Is that what the American Dream is?
Working and paying taxes but getting kicked to the kerb to die if you dare to get sick without insurance?

Ironically you will have the exact same look when you discover what she’s left in your slippers.

Tell me about it. It why I’m still playing GT7 on a TV instead of in VR.

I completely agree. I too still regularly use my Vita. Considering it’s an 11 year old piece of hardware it still feels up to date.

Yeah it’s why I’m on the fence about a Steam Deck. I’m stuck between a Project Q and gaming PC or just getting a Steam Deck with a dock and monitor so my gaming PC is like a Switch. Is that possible with a Steam Deck?

DS9’s The Visitor is an absolute masterpiece

They’re good but not on the same level as some of DS9’s episodes and Voyager is my favourite series.

Strange New Worlds 2x05. Charades | Discussion Thread
Another very strong episode from SNW.
Ethan Peck absolutely giving his all and getting to see his range was a treat. I kind of wished he could stay human but we always knew he was going to be fixed.
Jess Bush’s Nurse Chapel is quite possibly my favourite character of the show, an opinion which was reinforced today.
All in all a very enjoyable and funny episode of a very strong second season which has only had one weak episode so far. That being Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow.

Which is your favorite trek and why?
I always change between Deep Space Nine and Voyager.
Deep Space Nine is Star Trek at its absolute best and includes some of the best episodes not of the franchise but on TV. I’d challenge anyone to watch Far Beyond the Stars and not be moved by Avery Brooks’ sensational performance. Star Trek fan or not.
DS9 was also the first Star Trek to lean into a more serialised story telling thanks to the popularity of Babylon 5 at the time.
DS9 also had a very strong first season which is uncommon among Star Trek series and it continued to go from strength to strength for the duration of its run.
But for how good DS9 is I will always have a special place reserved for Voyager because it was the first Trek series I watched from Pilot to Finale while it was on air.
When you watch shows after they’ve ended you miss the thrill and suspense of the cliffhangers. I’ll never forget seeing Basics for the first time as Voyager flew off to leave the crew stranded or Scorpion as the Borg Cube pulled Voyager into the distance. But who could forget Equinox’s ending, seeing Janeway from the view of the alien only to be me with the dreaded To Be Continued… That was a long few months waiting for part 2.
So as you can see I don’t have just one favourite series. Now favourites episodes is another story but that’s for another thread.

For point one my parents don’t even bother to read error messages. They just close them then phone me and complain the computer is broken.
I also don’t use Twitter and haven’t for many years now. Even longer for Facebook.

When does the new Xbox dashboard launch? what are your thoughts on it?
I wish they’d stop messing about with the UI. Maybe take a page out of Sony’s book and get right first time and just release the odd small tweak.
