Drone Part-Picker/Calculator/Optimization Tool

I've been working on this for a while, and I still have data quality issues that need corrected, but I figure I'll "release" this now so I can get some feedback. I think it's plenty useful in its current state.

It's part-picker-like tool aimed at hopefully greatly aiding the process of picking parts for FPV drone builds. Once you have props, motors, and a battery selected, it estimates the hover time and thrust-to-weight ratio of the build. When you go to switch-out parts, it shows you the estimated deltas for thrust-to-weight-ratio and hover flight times. You can do things like sort by the highest deltas, if you want to optimize for flight time, for instance. The application does a lot of compatibility checks and auto-filtering, but they still need a little more work (mostly because of data quality issues). I currently only support GetFPV's catalog, but once I'm satisfied with the data quality, I will add more stores and price comparisons.

I'd be happy get feedback, or answer any questions.

This hobby sure has come a long way since 2016

I was pretty into flying back when whoops were new but stopped for financial reasons. Recently, friend got his license and I caught the bug again watching his videos.

Got this Mobula7 and have been having a blast. My old box headset has an awful receiver but I got a crazy deal on some Fat Sharks that should be here soon.

I also just moved to a place much better for flying - I can fly to a park without passing any private property.

I've been binging Joshua Bardwell's videos and, of course, already thinking about what I want to buy next. Thinking about a monitor or a second cheap headset for other people to watch.

I haven't geeked out this much on a new (or rediscovered) hobby in awhile and instead of spamming my friend, I decided to post here and maybe get this community going.

Anyone else on Lemmy into quadcopters/FPV?

Very happy with the Dragon-II, but more up elevator trim than expected

I had an easy maiden flight for my Reptile Dragon 2. But despite balancing right on the CG dots, I needed quite a lot of up elevator trim for level flight at about half throttle.

I put my rx at the tail using the extra servo opening.

Plenty of room for the FC. The PDB install is a little clunky, but the wires are stiff enough to just hold it. I put the vtx up front.

A little custom trimming to fit a RunCam orange, though after one crash in my Zohd XL I have had a lot of trouble with that camera and will probably look for something else.

Next upgrade is probably digital FPV, but I haven't decided on a system yet. Walksnail? Nice if I didn't need a separate action camera.

ELRS V3 on SPI based Meteor 65/75?

I have the older version Meteor 65 and 75 with the SPI based ELRS receiver. I have tried to update them to the latest Betaflight 4.4.2 along with my transmitter (Radiomaster Pocket) to ELRS 3.3.0. I cannot get them to bind with or without a binding phrase. My Crux35 binds no problem with the binding phrase on ELRS 3.3.0 with the same transmitter. If I downgrade everything to ELRS 2 (Betaflight 4.3.1 on the Meteors) they all bind as expected.

Does anyone have ELRS V3 running on these SPI based boards? Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Thoughts on the RadioMaster Pocket?

Looking for any thoughts on if the RadioMaster Pocket is good controller for someone who is into this hobby, but not hard-core. Also what are the best goggles recommended on the cheaper side? I know the EV800D are always recommended. Will these last a long time? Is it worth getting something like the Skyzone Cobra X instead for over twice as much?
