I bought a 16tb nas hdd for AUD$500 last year. Same drive is $1100 now and I've run out of space.

Oh man, I had wanted a big drive for more storage for forever but could never justify shelling out. When I saw AI was balooning ram and gpu prices I finally bit the bullet in january and got a 14tb desktop drive from microcenter for about $280 usd. I had no idea disk drive prices were going to jump too, I actually figured if that were true speculators would already be on top of it. It was more like an excuse to myself to make the purchase, like better to do this sooner just in case.

I checked just now and the 14tb desktop drive is currently $675.

Maybe not my biggest of 2026, but the biggest one within the last couple of months: I misplaced 64GB of DDR5. I had been saving it since 2023 or so, and I finally was going to put it to use yesterday. I looked everywhere I thought I put it, no dice. I saw it just a few weeks ago. I've got a sinking feeling that I somehow accidentally threw it away. Please kill me.

Idk. Anyone else been around who might have seen it? Because that stuff is well known to be expensive now. And someone might have snagged it.

That I didn't spend more time with my dog before she passed, even though we were together almost every day all day, still doesn't seem like enough.

Idk if 2026 specifically but last year I wrongly bought 4TB of storage. I returned it, and that's because it was wrong interface for the specific computer I bought it for. And now I wish I could have kept it for my other computer. Also, impossible to make a a raid for backup.

I could have upgraded the two remaining 8 GB sticks in my computer, but now I'm stuck at 48 GB and refuse to pay extortionate prices for the full 64.

Procrastinating mold and damp abatement at my place

Also, not being around friends and family more because I got too caught up in being "productive"

I gained a ton of weight from stress eating, then I just started overeating sweets for fun. It's gonna be an absolute B when I decide to drop this weight.

You can do it. Don't beat yourself up, it would be crazy not to be stressed right now

Thats gonna happen, you know it. Get a Costco membership, buy proper ingredients to make simple, basic, fuel

Food is fuel, not friends ;)

If it is a "regret" of yours, that means you must have had some control over it. In which situation was his life in your hands?

You have an interesting definition of regret that I didn't share.

Hm maybe my English is bad, I was going off https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regret definition:

Regret is the emotion of wishing one had made a different decision in the past, because the consequences of the decision one did make were unfavorable.

So in the context of your response, it seemed to mean "I could have decided to let Trump die, but I didn't. I regret that decision."

Ah, that makes sense. That is one definition, but it's not a requirement that one be personally involved.

Regret is a feeling of sadness, sorrow, or disappointment about something that happened along with a wish that it had been different. As a verb, it means to feel sorry about something.

You reached the end
