Its a valve stem with hand wheel unless the valve body is buried under the floor out of sight. It looks like a gate valve to me where that lead screw literally lifts or lowers the gate into place in the valve body.

I am not a fan of MOBAs. I tried playing it, but it requires a lot of knowledge just to understand what you're doing. Also because it's free to play people are jerks rather than helpful.
It's weird, I've never been a fan of MOBAs at all, but there's something that clicked with Deadlock for me, but I get that it's not for everyone. Further, from mine and my friend's experiences, people in Deadlock have actually been quite gracious! You get your occasional dickhead that says stupid shit sometimes, but generally people are pretty chill, and understanding if you're new.
Else: It's still alpha and is only really public because some journalists leaked it's existence. Basically letting players ask for an invite to be guinea pigs.
Thanks for the info. I literally learned about this game from this thread, but apparently it's been in a closed early access for a few years now; I guess I'm just one of today's lucky 10,000.

Maybe the thief stole the valve and the photo in the post was focusing on the wheel in an unsuccessful attempt at misdirection.

I've never even heard of it, and I'm a big fan of Valve. Game must have failed miserably. That probably should have advertised it.It's not out yet.
