If I have more than 4 comment replies in the morning I get overwhelmed and just sit there and stare at them. They slowly get more numerous. The other day I looked and there were 60. This legit almost made me panic. I'm a grown woman with real stress to be worried about and still with this bullshit.

It's 8:22 right now. My kid just got on the bus to school. I went inside to get my bag to go to work. And now I'm sitting in my chair thinking this exact same thing. Shit.

proceeds to snooze alarm 3 more times

Or, more precisely, lost track of time completing prepatory tasks and still showed up late.

This is even more poignant if you work from home.

Not that I speak from experience.

Ok, I speak from experience.

I live 5 minutes from work and I am still unreasonably pissed about that. I'm a school bus driver, we have morning and afternoon runs with about four hours in between, so I have twice as much commuting as a normal job. Some of my coworkers live as much as an hour away and they just sit in their cars between 9 and 1 looking at their phones, so I really shouldn't be complaining.

Need to develop an unhealthy amount of aniexty about being late, then that first frame would be panic rushing out of the house because on time is late.

I get both! It's a crap shoot if I'll arrive 15 minutes early or 15 minutes late! But I get anxiety either way!

2

Yup. I often show up to appointments awkwardly early because I'm just sitting, staring at my phone, waiting to leave, then realize I could do the exact same thing at my destination, minus the anxiety of watching the clock, so I leave.

3

Yup. If I'm not 15 minutes early, I'm late.

Panicked about everything is my default state.

I’m the complete opposite, I’m pacing around waiting for the time to leave

Supposed to be in at work at 8, brain starts pacing in worry at around 11pm the night before. "If I don't fall asleep I won't wake up on time". 3:00, "ugh I don't have enough hours to sleep well but if I don't fall asleep now I'll never get up!". 5:00 "shit it might be better I just start up!). 6:30, "God I'm exhausted let me close my eyes for 30 minutes..."

I for some reason did this in my late teens, was fine from about 22-33 and now suddenly in my mid to late 30s (37) its back and feel stressed as ever about it

7

I get this when I have to be up for something in the morning. My last job was remote so I could get on whenever pretty much as long as I didn’t miss deadlines

2

Thank God I work from home. I just get into that first meeting three minutes late and half the others are too. I'm the only one who looks unshowered though.

I can definitely identify with the "I'd rather be anywhere but there" feeling lately. That might not be an ADHD meme.

5

I guess it depends on interpretation. When I do this irl, it's more of a time-blind dissociation thing. Even for places I want to be!

7

I know the feeling. I'm looking at routes to get to work, and I have spent too much time planning, and got to work late.
