There have been multiple studies that show an increase in cancer of people who use gas stoves and ovens.

Good thing to point out. Gas stoves are bad for the environment and your health.

ITT: Rich people with their 5 burner stoves

BTT: People calling me poor

Mine has a griddle above it. I wanna make pancakes and scrambled eggs in it, but the wife says 'no'.

"you gonna lower the resale value of the house if you scratch-up the griddle that goes with the stove."

I think you’re joking(?) but this is by no means a rich person stove.

I've lived in middle class homes my entire life and never seen one. Sorry, very serious. It's def. a more rich thing to have.

My grandmas old falling apart trailer had a gas stove.

They only moved out and into an apartment with an electric stove when their water heater fell through the rusted out floor onto the ground beneath the trailer.

Anyone who owns a home for more than a decade or two, which was pretty normal for the middle class (in the US) for a while, has to replace a stove at some point, and these aren't that much more assuming you already have a gas line.

Speaking of which, in many places, especially those powered by natural gas, these stoves are actually cheaper to run than electric ones, making them much more common.

But yeah if you see someone putting in their own gas line these days just because they want a gas range, they probably have some fuckin' dough.

You may have missed the last where they said the stove had five burners. Did your grandma's have that?

Here's one for less than a grand from a major manufacturer. Fucker even has a convection fan.

Not sure what gas stoves normally cost because I'm a filthy renting plebian, but I spent more getting my 13-year-old base model civic rolling again after it sat for a few years.

Shit I've seen people living paycheck to paycheck spend more on a god-damned laptop than you would that stove.

Like yeah its a lotta money, but if your buying the thing that's going to cook most of your meals for the next 15-20 years, especially one that needs extra safety systems for how dangerous its fuel is, yeah a grand seems fair.

1

middle class is a fairly broad category, I would personally define it as between owning your house outright and having a few tens to hundreds of millions

Ok. But almost no one else uses a definition anywhere close to that so for the purpose of communication you may want to consider recalibrating.

I’m telling you that you either used as-built junk your whole life or never had a basic remodel. The price difference is $100-$300 for entry-level ranges.

This guy has bought a stove before!

This guy remodels his house!

It's like he read what I wrote, but saw the opposite.

If that seems unusual, then I’m going to break it to you that you weren’t middle class.

Yeah, this plebeian can't replace appliances on a whim! Or do a remodel on a whim!

It’s not my fault you’re all brokies.

But I guess shitposting subs will both attract both made people with leisure time and people festering while complaining about money

This is the point you do some self reflection. And better math.

8

That’s a dual ring burner, it has an outer and inner burner.

Usually they’re in a combined knob though.

Sometimes middle burners have yet knobs for long shaped pans.

If you own an oven with a center burner youre far more wealthy than i am

I mean even in that case the apartments i can afford do not include those.

I hate this layout, it’s not okay for a 30” range.

On a large size, yeah this is fine.

4

I do appreciate my center burner only bc I have this titanium kbbq (grill) pan. Heats up well and evenly.

3

Every time I make eggs I always use only the center burner. Gotta even put that usage yo
