I thought the lantern flys are less of a problem stateside now? I thought the intial problem was spiders and other jawns didnt know they could eat them, but now they are eating the lantern flys?
Lol yea, jawn is a very widely used word. For pretty much anything.
Had a customer at my counter the otherday, and even my coworkers were astonished at how often me and him used jawn, almost every single time in place of a different word. It wasnt till the coworkers bought it up to me afterwards I realized just how many times we used it, close to 12.
I had a 30' tall tree of heaven with about a 1' diameter trunk fall over in a storm and land on my used school bus (aka a skoolie). The bus was completely undamaged, not even scratched anywhere. Those things grow really fast but they're very light, basically balsa wood.
I went and checked where this fellow had his natural habitat (so I wouldnt kill it if it had its habitat where I lived), it is invasive in everywhere but china apparently, so feel free to crush em if you are in europe or whatever.

They are there but I can't say they are still a problem. They are sometimes all over my porch.
(intrigued by your use of jawn, I haven't been to Philly in a while.)

Fyi, that's an invasive spotted lanternfly, which often infest the invasive Tree of Heaven.
In America.
But not everyone lives in the USA

So THAT'S the bug I've been seeing everywhere this year! I don't recall ever seeing them before, and suddenly there's a ton.
Yeah, stomp the shit out of those fuckers
Okay, but why did they have to draw it so cute? :(
Because that’s what it looks like
The 4th instar is really neat!
And they jump like jerks. I don't know how else to describe it.
I suppose they must infest something else too? Or they wouldn't be a problem?
They also screw with grapevines, hops, and other trees: https://dec.ny.gov/nature/animals-fish-plants/spotted-lanternfly
Great PSA. Don't think I have them where I live but we do have Tree of Heaven
Mention of the fabled crack pipe apple!? :o
Slap the dog?
I added 4 more steps afterwards silly! Do I need to explain further?
