Wallet, keys, phone, knife, eye drops. It’s every day carry, not training for an apocalypse carry :)

If I run a sling I can carry more than double 👍

What are ya selling?

I normally carry a SAA 45 colt (lately I have been rotating through that and my S&W 64-8 38+p and my S&W 5.7), Mora 511 (or Cold Steel Pendleton Lite Hunter) SWAT-T, several reloads, small OC spray, and a Nitecore 1xAA light. I have a shoulder bag with more med equipment.

I actually do carry a SAA. In a citizen involved shooting, you'll rarely need more than 5-6 shots. I carry extra ammo, but I don't expect to survive a sustained gunfight, even with a semi auto.

Not to disagree with your choices, but what is your threat model that you can use a revolver to neutralize?

I'm out in the woods a lot and I just like the SAA. But coyotes, black bears, humans. I run Hormandy Critical Duty/Defense 185 grain hallowpoint.

Just because it's old or single action, doesn't mean it wont stop a person. These pistols have proven themselves in many many battles/wars.

Pistols and revolvers were sort of a status symbol in modern warfare not so much a weapon, I think. Tbh I won't even carry my rifle because well it's mostly useless in any type of combat unless you train every second day and shoot a lot.

I once had to shoot a wild hog, wasn't a fun experience - dumb, tough and stubborn. Hope you won't need to use yours any time soon. 😊

Ok? I'm not open carrying my AR just to go shopping at walmart lol. (not that I'm against the idea but long guns suck getting/out of vehicles and tight space).

I've heard hogs are "fun" to hunt. Sadly my state outlawed hog hunting last year. Not that Ohio has a huge outbreak of them compared out west. Glad you are ok though.

I hope I don't either ;)

Pocket knife (actually use it multiple times a day), phone, wallet, e-cig. I think it would be a good idea to start carrying a small roll of electric tape as well. And i have a lot of pockets to fill with various junk during the day that get emptied multiple times.

3

This is basically what I have except my knife is a Leatherman, because pliers are so useful.

I have multiple at work place, just some kind of cheapest notebooks and whatever pen. At hand there is always a notes program on the phone.

Forgot that I also carry seiko automatic watch.

2

Nice watch!

I almost purchased a Seiko 5 years ago but didn't. Now all the Seiko prices have gone up 3x. If I needed a new watch I'd probably still go for a Seiko 5 Field.

I'm currently wear a VAER S5 Tradition.

1

Yeah, they are very tough, but the strap it came with was extremely itchy. Also it drifts, not by a lot a minute or so every month. I wan't a new one, but this watch still works and looks prsentable enough, so not this time. 🫠

I'm catching up with some mates at a pub to work on some game dev ideas and I'll be hauling my big-ass Legion laptop around in this bad boy: https://missionworkshop.com/products/shed-ap-messenger-bag

Amazing bag, completely waterproof, the asymetric straps are comfy af, bunch of pockets for cables and other gear. My standard loadout with it is laptop, Sony noise cancelling cans, kindle, and maybe weed and vape.

Nice messenger, it sounds well designed.

Have you customized the kindle? I know people don't enjoy the fact that you don't own the books you buy.

2
lemmy.world

The kindle is like 20 years old and in permanent flight mode so it never connects to Amazon. I usually buy my ebooks from an independant site and rip them to the Kindle with Calibre.

2

Yeah it's been surprisingly resilient, I haven't seen the need to buy a new one. If it breaks down at some point I'll buy a non Amazon brand but I don't see any reason to get rid of it until then.

I have all these pockets in my cargo pants but my brain doesn't have enough ram to remember what's in them if I utilize them all :(

Tension in my lower back (my bike fit is off).

Also an XTEink x4 pro, a Skeletool, my keys + Swisschamp Mini + OC spray, and a Pixel 8.

3

Taking long walks makes my back feel better.

I see a lot of the XTEInk on other edc sites. They are so tempting but I know I already have a phone so for me its technically not a need.

Leathermans go a long way. I will carry a Rebar when I need one. My next phone will be a Pixel. There are time I want a phone like Minimal 2 or Light Phone 3 but then in realize I do need something more capable.

1

For the price they are great! I read a lot more having an actual ereader on me and it doesn't kill my battery.

Pixel experience has been increasingly not so great. Google has been dropping the ball and I'm looking at going back to Xperias, maybe that new Gtaphene friendly Motorola...

My standard sling purse contains phone, wallet, keys, hand sanitizer, and extra paper napkins I get from restaurants.

An orange spyderco roadie and some Dr. Bronner’s chapstick. Not much to do today.

Springfield xds 9mm or my Taurus judge. If I may be getting dirty I'll just bring one of the old Spanish revolvers I got from my grandpa before he passed away. They were made before serial numbers were required, they make great burners if the need arises
