Im gonna miss out on this WoW too. Was too cash poor to justify a subscription at first launch, I am too time poor this launch.
I finally got round to trying it a few years ago and wasnt allowed to join any dungeon parties because I didnt have fully maximised gear from said dungeons.
Not sure how time poor you are, but I have friends who log on after their kids goes to sleep and play from about 8 - 11pm.
WoW Forever is way more casual than Retail will ever be. As long as you're in the level range of dungeons, and you have the proper dungeon setup (1 tank, 1 healer, 3 dps) people will let you join their group. (so don't try a level 45-52 dungeon when you're level 15).
Raiding is a whole other thing that I've never done in Classic. Only in Retail. As I understand it, the 2 are very different, but still pretty sweaty.
Me and my friends are playing the Beta right now. I play by myself sometimes and I can pretty easily come across people who will help me. (unless it's a quest where you have to collect quest objectives based RNG. No one will help because of how collecting RNG quest objectives works in groups).
Anyway, I'm really liking WoW Forever. Buy a sub when it comes out on Nov 4 (well maybe not day of. it's gonna be a shit launch day as usual).

Chewing ibuprofen like bubble gum and eating all the Lisinopril may simultaneously NOT help keep your high pressure gravy filled blood from self casting Blood Boil, but also drop a simultaneous Desiccation and Kidney Shot and you can't tank that aoe shadow damage and the crit to the back.
I remember the early days of the Internet when .jpg and .jpeg were different depending on browsers, .gif transparency was a wildcard, .png didn't exist, and Real Player was the best thing for video.
tbh it’s because i am self hosting this stuff on a home nbn connection in australia and a lot of people in europe get very slow speeds to me just through sheer distance so i want to optimise the crap out of these images and videos i post
webp was working without issue and avif seems to work ok with piefed
going to stick with it and hope lemmy fixes the problem and i saw thunder was updated recently
reading up on it more it looks like image compression these days comes out of video compression codecs, so the standards are moving quite a bit faster now

Looks like RGB misinterpreted as YUV. Black maps to low-intensity green.
