What're you playing right now?
Pretty basic question, but I thought it was worth asking!
Currently, for me, I've had a frustrating time trying to get Grim Dawn to let me play co-op with my partner over the internet, so I've dived into some other games instead:
- Dungeons And Degenerate Gamblers - interesting game, I don't really think it's too similar to Balatro even if the "wacky cards in a traditional card game" thing is the same. Just had a major update so I decided to pick it up while it was on sale, and I've enjoyed my time with it. Sometimes when you play roguelikes, it can get a bit tiring seeing the same items/cards/etc pop up, but they interact in interesting ways at least. About two and a half hours in, I beat a "final" boss for the first time.
- Disgaea 2 - almost ashamed to admit I'm playing it in 2026, but that's more because it shows it's age in the story. I played it back on the Playstation 2, and had fond memories of how grindy it was back then (I'm a weirdo who enjoys grind in video games) so I decided to show my partner the game. I still really enjoy playing it, at least, even if the way the characters are written makes me cringe.
- Metaphor: ReFantazio (disclaimer, I'm a Persona fan already) - just started this game and had not gotten any spoilers before. I'm really, really enjoying it! I'm still fairly early on, but after I make this post, I'll probably jump back in again. Mild spoiler, that comes up pretty much immediately in the beginning anyway, but I have played another game that has the player and main character as separate people, and I really enjoyed that one too.
I tend to bounce around games depending on what can keep my attention, if that wasn't obvious, hahaha.
Anyone else got games they're playing that surprised you? Maybe something you picked up recently, or it's been sitting in your backlog?

I've been doing my first Morrowind playthrough ever after being made aware of OpenMW. It runs amazingly well on the Steam Deck and I have a very nice control scheme customised. I'm thoroughly enjoying an RPG where I'm expected to figure things out for myself.
I'm trying to decide actually... I'm contemplating a 1.0 run of palworld, but I'm not 100% settled
I'm playing Morrowind again for the first time in years and years, and journaling it over on the Morrowind community, if anyone's interested in following it.
Just finished the 2013 Tomb Raider on pc. Still have Nier: Automata, and just installed Aliens Fire-Team Elite.
On Switch I've been steadily moving through Diablo II. And Tetris.
Unfortunately, today I started what will be an 84 hour work week. Prior to that and after though, Mass Effect: Andromeda. Widely hated as a Mass Effect game but this will be my third playthrough since it came out. I think its a good game even if it isn't a good Mass Effect game.
You can get that done in four days and have twelve hours to spare.
12 hour shifts, started this one 7 hours ago. 6 more then 4 days off.
A quarter through replaying the 1995 Jagged Alliance. I much prefer the second game, but the original is still fun and this is the first time replaying since the 90s
Clair Obscure: Expedition 33. It is a great game so far. I get to play about two hours a week. That and getting back into a couple of my favorite board games, Tokaido and Takenoko.
Armored Core 6, Control, Tactics Ogre Reborn, Sometimes I break things up with a random shmup or arcade type game.
Been very tired and without energy lately, so, basically only comfort games. Which apparently means Silksong right now.

I took a break from Eve Online and Factorio on my PC because I've got a currently homeless friend staying with me and he's crashing in my downstairs living room/computer room but I started playing Palworld since it was on sale and it's been pretty enjoyable so far. I'm starting to realize that the base building is very similar to Rimworld which is one of my favorite games so I'm excited to dig into that part as I level up.
Tarkov, pve. Such a satisfying gameplay loop.
I'm at the last bit of The Drifter, which I've been enjoying immensely. In the latter half some of the puzzles did start get a little convoluted (though maybe I'm just stupid) but overall it's been an incredible pulp thriller ride underpinned by mostly logical puzzles. Beautiful art, sharp writing and excellent voice acting. The story is a fun ride too.
I've also been playing some Wanted: Dead. It's an interesting mess of a game. I already ranted about it over in the PatientGamers community weekly thread. In a different universe this could have been a cult classic. The combat is still decent enough even with all the flaws.
On PC, it's either Elder Scrolls Online with the wife, or Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
On Switch, Turok. Loved this game as a kid.
Tears Of Metal. Really fun Dynasty Warriors style rogue like. Really challenging game too.
Star Wars The Old republic. There is so much good story. Mostly just been playing the main stories singleplayer. Its been a blast.
Replaying Witcher 3. The news of the upcoming DLC made me wanna check it out again, even though the DLC is at least a year away. I hadn't played it since before the "Next Gen" upgrade, so was curious to see how that looked too.
The game holds up, and the graphics for the landscapes and buildings is still top tier. The only thing showing its age is the faces of the characters, mainly the human ones. But human faces are always a challenge, no matter the budget!
I have put almost 30hrs into the Guildrun demo. It's a PvE autobattler in the same vein as TFT, Autochess and DOTA Underlords.
Before that I 100%'ed Wayfinder which was really a better game than I was expecting. Was pretty darn good value for £3!
Now, probably today, I'm going to try to set up my own World of Warcraft Legion server in Docker or Podman.
Just beat my second playthrough of I Was a Teenage Exocolonist, I'll do a third soon. Accidentally found out about the secret mechanic on the first playthrough, but I'm very much looking forward to everything i missed.
I finished Blinx 2 the other day, and I got all the cat medals so I could unlock the TS-X9 sweeper, which is like the "ultimate" sweeper. All that's left is to find all the pig medals and win 100 vs. battles.
I just finished playing hackerHub. Single player hacking simulator with a story mode. Not to bad of a game really. Put a ton of hours into the new poe season as well

Getting back into VR now that it works pretty well in Linux. There’s a VR mod for Firewatch that I’d like to try and get working, so that’s likely what I’ll be playing next. Outside of that I’ve been playing Arizona Sunrise Remake and Dungeons of Eternity.

I recently bought a few games I eagerly wanted to play like Expedition 33, Dungeons of Hinterberg, and Sea of Stars. And instead of playing those, I am of course in the middle of my 8 millionth Terraria playthrough, with some Skyrim modding on the side. I don't even know why I buy new games lol.
