Guess the game (#008)

Sorry everyone life has really gotten in the way as of late. Hopefully this calm down soon and I can do these more frequently again.

As always the game has had an US release.

I’ll release the answer if no one answers. Please refrain from using image search

Can you guess the game ?

Even if you didn't know what it was, you could narrow down the release date to the mid 90s just from the scrollbar.

Before you get too far, get yourself Yoot Tower. It's same game just with a lot of improvements and fixes. Yoot Saito is a legend.

Don't need to guess. It took me many years to realize elevator shafts could hold more than one elevator car.

I don't need to guess, I know it is Sim Tower

Same. I saw the picture before reading the title and immediately thought, "Cool! Someone's playing SimTower! I haven't seen that game in ages!"

Loved this game as a kid. What's the best modern version?

Project Highrise or the direct sequel to this Yoot Tower. But PH is far easier to run

Great, now I'm hearing that loop of elevator dings and office chatter!

Brings me back to middle school where our Shop (machines/wood) teacher had these installed on the like 2 class computers.

IIRC I think this is the game where you can dig (?) or maybe scroll down towards the bottom left corner and there was some kind of secret buried at the bottom of the map. It’s all a bit fuzzy now.

I got this game on a 3-in-1 CD, bundled with Sim Isle and the OG Sim City. I already had Sim City, but it was a much older floppy release that, I think, was only in black and white. The Sim City on the CD was in color and came with some extra scenarios and tile sets.

I used to love this game as a kid. Tried to return to it a few years later though and found it was one of those 'game speed = cpu speed' setups which was unplayably fast on my new 800mhz machine. I should track down an emulator for it...

Ah SimTower is so fun lol I played it in the browser a few weeks back just to experience it again. Those sim games are always a blast, I’ll have to go back to Simcity and SimCopter sometime

Yoot Saito also directed the wonder feudal japanese wargame/pinball simulation with microphone support Odama. I still have my copy and mic!

All I remember from this is my brother's advice to never build condos. Not sure how true it was.

I recall hearing that that this game was originally an elevator algorithm simulator, and that if you right-click in an elevator pit, you can fiddle with the algo.

I was gonna guess something to do with King Kong. Hope life gets out of your way sooner than later!

4

Oh man! I actually knew this one, but I was too late.

Keep it up! I'll get it one of these days.

Never saw it before. My best guess would have been that one fun flash game on armorgames where you build a office complex with workers inside pushing buttons. Which name I have also sadly forgot. :(

You reached the end
