The pictures imply a specific definition of "perfect," and if we're just going by the pics then that sword stick trumps the smooth rock.
BUT if we get to choose the definition of "perfect" then I'm pretty sure the coolest "rocks" I can imagine finding would trump the coolest "sticks" I can imagine finding.
Yeah I have a bunch of rocks I've picked up because they were either extra pretty and cool colours, or just really smooth and a nice shape. I would definitely pick up that stick and swing it around a bit and carry it with me for the rest of the hike, but when I get back to the car I'm tossing it into the forest or leaving it at the trailhead for someone else to find. That rock is definitely coming home with me though.
Rock. It will last through the ages/random moves. Its small and portable but substantial enough to be satisfying. My only concern is id be afraid id try to skip it across a lake and lose it.
Depends on how stingy we are being about the definition of rock. If it can't be entirely formed of carbon as like a giant diamond worth a few hundred million I can then sell, I'm going stick.
The rock because in dirty for what I did to one like it. I took it from a gorgeous beach and lost it the next day, dooming it to suburban hell somewhere when it fell out of an unzipped pouch.
Projectile weapons are pretty good. You'd need a sling or imperfect stick to throw the stone & make it competitive. How many inventory spaces do I have remaining?

It is true this is a particularly good stick and particularly drab rock. I might be biased TEAM STICK FOR LIFE
I admire your conviction
Stick fleeting. Rock is lasting. also a good roxk is great for a sling
What if the perfect versions are both petrified wood?
Rock. Keep it on a shelf forever. Maybe polish it up a bit.

God dammit Mary, they are minerals not rocks.
Sticks can be lightsabers, great swords, staves, walking sticks, katanas, guitars, hockey sticks/golf clubs, and hundreds of other things.
A rock is a rock.
Still have the stick, rock got skipped at first lake.
A rock can be a dragon egg, a magical talisman, a portable forcefield, a gold nugget, a skipping stone, a pet, a communicator, or even just a rock.
You had me at dragon egg.
Rock!
You can hold onto it as a paper weight for reat of your life or carry it around in your pocket - knowing you have the perfect rock!
You can make a perfect rock way easier than you can make a perfect stick.
My intrusive thoughts would take over if I ever held that rock and I would absolutely YEET it.
It appears to be practically perfect for skipping. I bet I could get 4 skips out of that rock.
Rock as adult. Stick as child.
As an adult, I'd wish I had both.
i have room to keep the rock, where would i even put the stick
in your enemies sternum, where else?

rock is this true ?

Rock. I just think it's neat.
Leave everything but trash other people dropped
Yeah, another reason I like stick, I will break it and leave it behind. I don't have any sticks at home. Rock might be too tempting
STICK! STICK! STICK!
Rock is easier to carry; less fragile too.
Perfect rock is perfect for throwing, but then you don't have it anymore
Rock 183%
I'd skip the shit out of that rock, but I'd take a cool stick cause my dog would also appreciate it
hit rock as far as I can with stick
Stick is king
Perfect stick

Or it escaped.

I could enjoy the stick a lot for a day but the rock I could put on my desk and enjoy it a little every time I see it.
Is the stick for sale? Name your price!
Wait, wait. Does that rock keep
bearstigers away?Edit: Remembered the scene wrong.
