I thought it was good, but it didn't hold up to Fury Road. The practical effects in Fury Road were much more impressive than the CGI in Furiosa. I am aware that those effects were wildly dangerous and led to multiple injuries. So not saying they should have attempted it again, but it does impact the finished product. Also I think Charlize Theron was more convincing in the role of Furiosa, and it is hard not to compare the two actresses since it is supposed to be the same person.
A counterpoint to the other reply, I felt like it was trying to simply cover too much ground ... I know Miller wanted it to be an epic, but it didn't feel like it had the gravitas of one.
I loved a lot of it, and could go for maybe an edited version with a bit less CGI OE something (I don't know, I'm no editor, lol)
Her father was an investment banker who retired at 40, got bored and became a world champion powerboat racer — and she rode with him,
Didn't know she was a nepo baby, but it makes sense.
Most actors these days came from money and just had Daddy finance their first projects.
Her magically getting a lead part in a movie by a first time director with no money and then suddenly being able to pump out a high quality independent movie picked up by a24...
It's the same path the Mara's took.
Rich kid wants to act, so their dad funds movies until people accept their kids a movie star.
Like most things in society, average people just can't compete with that.
While you're not wrong, Hollywood being full of nepo babies is nothing new. I will say that you do actually have to been at least a decent actor, as well as being a nepo baby, now-a-days.
Even if their parents don’t have Mara money, it sure helps if your parents can float your bills while you make connections and take headshots and go to cattle calls and eventually auditions.
Furiosa was amazing. I cannot believe that movie bombed.

I agree.on those points.

Lol
“Have to” is perhaps a bit strong, but it is certainly possible to wash out. If you’re David Ellison, you just have daddy buy you a couple studios.
And you ain’t kidding about the nothing new part. I think Drew Barrymore has professional actors in her family going back to the mid 1700s.
Even if their parents don’t have Mara money, it sure helps if your parents can float your bills while you make connections and take headshots and go to cattle calls and eventually auditions.
Bro, she dropped out of highschool at 16 to be an actress and her dad is oligarch level rich with an MBE and an OBE...
It's not the same as having your west Hollywood studio paid for after college.
Shes not the worst actress right now, but that's because so many are similar to her.
