Some birds I drew!

Magpie, chiffchaff, bee-eater and woodpecker! Some attempt at learning to draw with colored pencils and I'm really happy with how they turned out!

Love the off-white color and texture of the bamboo paper I used, though unfortunately it's a bit too "soft" and starts dissolving when pressing too hard with the pencils. Still wasn't able to find a paper with that color that works better for pencils :')

Edit: Thanks so much for all the love on these <3 Next step is to learn to draw them from real life and not just photos!

nothing much to add that hasn't already been said. just wanted to echo that these are top notch illustrations! easily could be featured in a science or ornithology journal!

Thank you so much! I wish I could get to a point where I can actually observe and draw them from real life and not just photos. But that's a next step then!

That's so cool! I'd love to do some bird photography as well, but the cameras and lenses are so darn expensive :')

Beautiful. I was just thinking how much I would like to have a large bird print with no background hanging on the wall. This is literally what I was imagining.

Thank you! After the woodpecker I made them fit certain sizes to frame them all together! Thought if I already put the work into it, might as well make them look good as decoration. That's where the off-white paper really brings it together I think!
