I'm giving it a go posting something to ![email protected] each night.

@[email protected] was talking to me about it, and I have been finding some real wild stuff the last few nights as I scroll my feed looking for my owl content.

All the other animal communities feel "cute" but I'm more interested in education, conservation, and rehab, so I often feel my stuff doesn't fit the vibe of the other existing communities, so when presented with the offer to help revive a dead generalist animal community, it seemed interesting.

I enjoy most every animal, and there are plenty of times I come across non-owl things I'd like to share. This week so far I came across a half dozen squirrels who naturally became entangled, my clinic has a fox receiving hydrotherapy, and our neighbors got a pair of leucistic deer.

While I don't expect at this point to spend as much time on it as ![email protected], it's nice to have as an alternative so I'm not stuck on a single subject all the time, and I should be able to find at least one unique thing a day as I scroll.

Starting user count was around 190 and is already up almost 20 users, so we'll see what momentum we can build, especially if some others join in.

Nice work so far, and great to hear your intent!

I'm still pondering how I want to schedule posts between my five 'pledge communities,' but I'll try to figure that out this week. I did kick off my 1st post on "animals," with the harvest mouse collection.

What I need to do at this point is go through my massive image collection and separate out as many animal posts as I can, then figure out which ones I want to try to post and/or do a write-up on. Stay tuned...

I just finished Day 8 and left some thoughts on that post as a new sumo watcher!

It's been a lot of fun, so hopefully I will be able to follow along in real time in July.
