Ok but don't forget Converse-wearer is like an entire genre of lesbian, they're hardly going out on a limb here

One of my favorite games to play when I go out is "Chucks or Vans."

It's exactly what it sounds like, I just see how many pairs of Chucks or Vans i can spot, Doc Martens could be on the list too.

Converse is a subsidiary of Nike.

Nike is apparently considering donating to trumps ballroom https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/lifestyle-buzz/nike-gets-major-backlash-for-survey-on-funding-trump-s-ballroom/ar-AA22JXGO

The co-founder of Nike and largest individual shareholder is billionaire Phil Knight, who also spent a few million trying to get republicans elected in Oregon https://www.oregonlive.com/politics/2025/11/nike-co-founder-phil-knight-makes-record-setting-donation-to-help-elect-republicans.html

Thank you. I know this might just be a news article, but considering how much advertising occurs through social media accounts these days, we can never really know. Either way, it's important to remember that no matter what publicity stunts a company pulls, that doesn't negate the evil shit they do.

I was going to make a comment about rainbow capitalism, but I really like these.

I mean, they're cool, but probably not $160 cool. My question would be: do they offer them year-round, or only during June?

That's Australian dollars mind you. And I think it's a limited run.

I got ~138 of r€al mon€y, 125.69 (nice) of härd cürréncy, or 119 of pro'a money innit (they used to use farthings or sth before, I dunno...)

your mileage may vary

160 the fuck ??

Edit : nvm it's dollarydoos, about 100€... Still hurts

Tbh, that's better than a lot of clothing that's available right now. Quality has turned to shit across the board. I've got some clothes I bought last year that are already becoming thread-bare. Yet the clothes I wore as a teen managed to survive being in my regular rotation through my early 20s. If I had a pair of shoes that could last 2 years despite daily use, I'd be quite surprised.

3

Huh, I'll definitely remember that when it's time to get new shoes. Maybe i should buy a couple pairs now, before they sell out.

mm, I tried some back in the day and they're about as substantial as a tshirt on my feet.

Not sure your issue, but high-quality insoles helped me.

2

I cant wear vans either. Used to wear cons all the time, but the only got comfy once my pinky toe pushed though and made a hole in em

3

For $115 i expect a quality product. Shouldn't have to replace the insole immediately but shit company is going to be shit company. This is 100% rainbow capitalism.

3

Yep, any appearance of idealism in big companies is always just marketing. Once the metrics drop off, they'll look for a new gimmick. Putting a white hat on a company because it seems to support your issues just means it worked on you.

4

Hell yeah, been wearing these shoes most of my life.

I wish the rainbow was vertical, pants are going to cover up half the rainbow.

You reached the end
