That medicine is Misoprostol, which is the key ingredient in the cards from my post, and is often one of two medicines used during abortion treatment. (though it can be used on its own, just with less effectiveness and a higher chance of complications)

Oh no, it works out exactly the way they think it will. Abortions and birth control are a great way for poorer individuals to avoid the financial burden of a child. I guarantee you the rich will have no problems getting an abortion if we went full-on Handmaidens Tale.

Wrong. Poor people will be forced to give birth to every child conceived. Those children will grow up in poverty. They will have limited educational opportunities as well as very limited financial opportunities. Social support for these children will be limited at best, or more likely, completely absent. All this means that crime rates among these people will skyrocket and the prisons will be crowded with the new slaves that these policies will create. Prisons full of free slave labor is exactly what these people want.
