You can’t play on most multiplayer servers, but if you host your own, you can turn off online-mode in the server.properties file, which just skips authentication stuff
For reference, it has built-in methods for searching and installing mod loaders and mods. You can just get neoforge 1.21.1, then install create & aeronatics ;)

Isn't that just what's known as cracked minecraft, I remember playing that around 2012 and only being able to play on some servers

So what I meant was "I miss playing Minecraft" but yeah some of the most recent versions just feel like modpacks
